Lois, I am so very sorry. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

GrannyLois, I am so very sorry for your loss, and you are held in the light of prayer, at the Heart of God. As the blessed gift of a loving Father, your 5-1/2 years with Mike represent a legacy of love that endures beyond time. God bless you and keep you, and help you to adjust to the demands of life and circumstances as they are now, keeping ever before you the vision you were given of Mike walking, whole and free and delivered from pain.

Newark, OH(Zone 5a)

Oh, GrannyLois I am so so sorry. I was just praying for you two and went to the forum and saw the news. My heart and prayers are going out to you right now and will continue to.

I am so grateful that you had that wonderful vision of Mike walking and smiling at you. It is such a comfort. After my mom was killed and when I was on the way home from visiting my dad who was in critical condition in the hospital, I saw a vision of Mother........smiling her bright smile and having a conversation with Jesus. She was so happy and peaceful. It was so vivid that I knew it was, indeed, a vision. And I am thankful that you had one of Mike. When the loneliness plagues you at times in the future, you can know....and know that you know....that Mike is with our Father and you have the assurance that you will be reunited again, for all eternity. You will always carry Mike's love with you.

I am praying for the Lord to lift you above all of the grief and sadness at this time, to ease your heart, take your pain upon Himself, and comfort you as only He can. There are no words to express what He can do, and rest assured that He will take care of you in this time of loss and always.

Newark, OH(Zone 5a)

I'm really sorry Lois, my heart weeps for your loss. I was just talking to Aimee on the phone last night until the wee morning hours and told her how Mike had sat there with my mom and I at the RU and we chatted for so long. He was such a sweet and kind person and when so many were busy with their own thing and didn't have time to chat with me at the RU, Mike was right there keeping me company :) He was a wonderful man and I'm sorry to see him gone :(

I am so sorry to hear of your loss. This poem has brought me comfort when I am grieving. Perhaps it can comfort you.

Do Not Stand at My Grave and Weep

Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glint on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you wake in the morning hush,
I am the swift, uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circling flight.
I am the soft starlight at night.
I am the song that will never end.
I am the love of family and friend.
I am the child who has come to rest
In the arms of the Father who knows him best.
When you see the sunset fair,
I am the scented evening air.
I am the joy of a task well done.
I am the glow of the setting sun.
Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there, I do not sleep.
Do not stand at my grave and cry.
I am not there, I did not die!

Oh GL, I am so so sorry for your loss. I was shocked and stunned to see this post and read it through for the first time today. The kids and I will always have fond memories of him from the RU. They had such a good time listening to his tales and having him chase them with his 'car'. My prayers and thoughts go out to you and your family.
Hugs,
Michele

Thank you everyone. I have felt very well cared for this weekend, well loved, and covered with prayer. I was blessed with a real partner in Mike and experienced true love for the first time in my life. The 5 years I had with him were the best years of my life.

I'll be out of touch for a while here, but I will return.
Thanks again.
