I found this interesting information. Thought of sharing it. I want to make one like that too. What do you say?

I wonder if there is a way to do this yourself? I have the water wizard things, you can get them at walmart. any ideas?

Yep, do it yourself tiG. I had one a few years ago that I bought at a church bazaar. Get some sort of plastic sack and fill with soil, then push in the plants through cut holes, - Do need to keep it well watered!

A few years back I planted a pouch with Purple Wave Petunias, and it was absolutely beautiful but......the pouch was long, close to 3 ft long and while I used the lightest weight soil I could find, the thing weighed a ton. At first I tried watering the individual holes, that didn't work, it washed the seedlings out. So I watered from the top, and no moisture made it to the bottom. Finally I turned the hose on to a steady drip and secured it to the top of the pouch and left it on for several hours. This worked but I had to do this every single day.

Depending on how long your pouch may be, the watering device might work, if you fill it again and again and again. I consider them way too labor intensive for me.

Mmmm, does impatiens suit this sort of pouch?

Dinu, I have several of the flower pouches this year. And my impatiens are doing very well, and are so full that it's difficult to water them. I have my impatien pouch hanging on my gate in a mostly shady area and it looks like a mound of flowers. I say, impatiens are an excellent choice for the flower bags. See this previous discussion on the bags:http://davesgarden.com/t/378067/

Dinu, Here's a photo of my impatiens. I started this bag in late April.

I'll surely try this out on impatiens, nathalyn. Yours is pretty good! I have of plenty of extras growing. So, it is a new idea for experimenting with them.
