I was hoping to plant cosmos this year but still have not been able to get out to plant them. If I have some help in the next couple weeks, do you think they'd grow for me by the time we have frost or should I just forget it this year and hope for better luck next year?
too late for seeds?
with the weather the way it has been here in Ohio, it's no telling what will grow and how long :(
I just wish it would stop raining. I've had about enough of this rain
Janie, I planted a smaller cosmos this year that is only supposed to grow to 2 ft. high. It is already over a foot tall and growing quickly. Maybe this kind (sonata) would be a good choice for you. But I have had mine (taller varieties) self seed in the SAME year and have a second planting that would bloom in September.
If you could get yours planted by mid-June, I think that it would bloom for you before frost. Or you might want to consider starting some seeds in pots now and then transplant them when you have time later. Nat
