Tina, happy belated birthday!

I have a friend who also loves turtles, and she calls her house "casa de las tortugas". House of the turtles.

They built a patio out of stones arranged in the form of a turtle.

Each tie I go to Mexico to see her I try to bring her some more turtle collectibles. Once I took a turtle magnet and managed to de-magnetize my ATM card! DOH!

I love turtles too but not just turtles.

OK, I'll go next. My primary interest is dogs, I show Afghan Hounds. We spend most weekends travelling to dog shows, and have a great time. We finished our girl's championship last summer, hoping to finish our 16 month old male from sweden this summer. And when I'm not grooming, I try to garden!!
As for work, I am a senior electronics technician in new product development for a major electronic ballast manufacturer.

You all show that gardeners are the most interesting people! I'm an instructor at UT in Knoxville. I read a lot, quilt, sew, cross-stitch, work out (BFL anyone?) sing in my church choir (one of my favorite things!), and help out at our DD's school. She's just graduated and will be leaving for college in the Fall (naturepatch, I feel your pain!) I love travels to places where I can learn things - hate to just hang at the beach - but I miss my garden babies when I'm gone! In the future, I want to do a Master Gardener course, re-learn piano, and visit the UK, especially Wales, for an extended time.

Well like everyone else I have so many things that I like to do or try. I have been a pauper, a poet, can't remember the rest of the song lol.
I have worked since I was 12 years old and had just about evey job you can name except working at McDonalds. Since the office scene isn't my thing I quit my Data Entry job and went to work in warehouses. My last job I was forklift op and I like to operate big machinery, an accident stopped me from working in 1990. My favorite job is being a grandmere, I have six grandchildren and I am so proud of everyone of them.
I like to draw, crochet, read(when I have the time)sea shell crafting, dying fabric, quilting, sun painting, making garden stones, decorating gourds, decorative painting, playing chess and cards, cooking, baking, photography, sewing my own clothes, canning, making prefumes, and lotions. I am sure I have left something out but that is all I could think off the top of my head.

It sounds like everyone is a busy person!

I am very active in my church and help out on several committees. Everyone is blessed with a specific gift, and I suppose mine is providing organization and administrative support.

I also love to travel, and my husband and I try to take a couple weeks every year to visit a new part of the USA.

In addition to my regular job as a cpa, I tutor (volunteer) refugee families in English as a second language by taking a family and working with them one on one for a year to 18 months. I also provide assistance in getting medical care, transportation, etc. For the two families that I have worked with extensively, I am teacher, friend, momma, and granny all wrapped up into one package. I have been included as a new member into their families - - and have been given the greatest gift of all, "LOVE".

Especially in the summer, I usually have a camera around my neck. I am always on the look out for that perfect flower photo or hummingbird in mid-flight shot. And I always have one or two scrapbooks in progress of my gardens, family or vacations.

I love to read and putter around on the computer. There are not enough hours in a day, but I try to set aside enough time to walk 2 miles a day.

My house is a mess - - my gardens are full of flowers - - - and I usually have a smile on my face. Life is good. Ms. Nat

I enjoy cooking, painting, reading, listening to music, playing guitar/mandolin/banjo/piano, woodworking, and playing golf. I collect books, coins, and wines, mainly reds.

Hmmm everyone has fingers in lots of pies here.

Me, I enjoy tons of things, I don't bother with collections as I don't have the space but I enjoy writing prose, reading, puzzels, folklore, people watching, chatting to people (I can talk the hind legs of a donkey given the chance), making and/or decorating things, getting out to fairs/auctions/visiting places here in England, have an interest in old vet med cures and preventatives among so many others. I'd love to keep sheep again.

Used to be a livestockman, dairy trained but ended up being a slave to 1500 head + of all the normal domesticated animals (middle management is not a fun place to be). Now I'm a dull and boring civil servant part time and panicking about the rent the rest of it *G* I won't even try to list all the jobs I've actually done in the off season times when farm work was scarce or I needed the extra money (yeah Baa like there really were 36 hours in a day back then), safe to say I've delivered car paint and been a silver service waitress too among many other hats.

jobs, I've had plenty...........when I was 17 I tried to apply at Burger King on base in Germany and they told me I was over-qualified due to many business and computer classes..........lol. So my first job was working for the Commander on the military base as a secretary and assistant. I've worked as secretary (commander's office, vocational school), receptionist(Bayer plastics, surgeon's office), pizza delivery driver, video store clerk, cashier at Wally World, Business machines specialist, Electronics Specialist, Supervisor for an inspection and sorting company, Sales person, Independent contractor for sales in abrasives..........hmmmmmmmm, I think that's about it.......lol..........oh yeah, worked as a Community Service Assistant too where I helped people who had mental health issues.
Most say I'm a jack of all trades and a master of none since I can do just about anything. I've even fixed my car myself a few times before, fixed my mom's dryer, fixed my own washer........I resurfaced all of my kitchen cabinets, layed a laminate wood floor in the kitchen, layed tile in both bathrooms........painted a dragon on my living room wall and frogs on my bathroom wall. I fix just about anything that needs fixing. I did get electrocuted once when I was 17 when I fixed a coffee pot.........lol

I, like alot of you, will never be able to do everything that my mind has plans on doing. Five months ago I got laid off of my job of 30 years, and I've never really experienced spring like I have this year. It's so exciting watching plants emerge through the dirt, buds blooming into beautiful flowers, weeds trying disquise themselves as pretty plants. (don't know what all the weeds look like yet.) I wake up every morning and want to get outside to see whats happened during the night... I heard about planting tomatoes upside down!! I had to research on that and I have 2 of them started. (If anyone wants to know about that I have information on it) I'm hooked!!!! I quess I have yet another new hobby.
I paint (almost every flower pot in my garden is hand painted Donna Dewberry style), crochet (finished 4 afgans that are already wrapped for Christmas, scrapbook (working on photo pages for family members, quilt (finished photo wall hanging), sew, etc., etc. I've painted almost every flower pot in my garden, I've finished 4 afgans and a photo wall hanging since the beginning of the year. Most of my Christmas presents this year will be handmade. Hopefully I will find a job soon, but I sure am enjoying my time off.
