I HAVE NEVER PLANTED ANNUAL FLOWER SEEDS. IM IN ZONE 6B. IS IT TO LATE TO PLANT SEEDS INTO THE GROUND? I HAVE SWEET WILLIAMS, ZINNIA, BACHELOR BUTTONS AND DIANTHUS. I ALSO HAVE A FEW OF THOSE POUCHES. HOW MANY SEEDS CAN I STICK INTO EACH OPENING. WILL ANY OF THESE SEEDS HAVE ANY CHANCE AT ALL TO GERMINATE AND GROW?
THANKS FOR ANYONES HELP
ANNUAL FLOWER SEEDS
Too late? Heavens, NO! They should do really well. I'm just starting to think about planting things out here at the other end of the state. Stick them and in and stand back - this time of year things pop out of the ground like crazy!
Herbie,,,the pouches?? I assume they are the long plastic bag-like things?? If they are...I would use transplants instead of seeds. I don't know how large your pouches are,,but they require lots of watering. Imagine how long it takes for the water to get all the way to the bottom...a long time and lots of water. If you water in the side holes it will wash the soil away from the plants.. I turn on the hose at a drip, tie it to the top of the pouch with string, and leave it drip for quite a while. Happy gardening.
Moss Rose
KATHLEEN AND MOSSROSS. THANKS SO MUCH FOR YOUR ADVICE. WILL START PLANTING RIGHT AWAY. AS FAR AS THE POUCHES GO I WILL TAKE YOUR ADVICE AND USE PLANTS INSTEAD OF SEEDS
