Lavanda & Lupi! You two were right! While outside weeding the veggie garden today, I noticed nice buds on the Crape Myrtles! Yes they are the LAST to bud for sure! And it teaches me patience! I was being so skeptical!

I'm a newbie to them, and it looks like they bud on old wood........

My first one budded a few days ago, and lo and behold, I went out to uproot my dead new ones that had all the roots eaten during the winter -- one of them had budded!!!!! Had to find a different place to put darling Rosa Mundi.

Oh, I'm glad that one of your Crapes made it! I have two purples, one is a smallish one, it only gets up about 12 - 18" and another one (Cawtaba).
