I'm leaving to head for Alabama on Thursday morning and will get there late Thursday nite or early Friday AM.Since the Talladega Race is not till Sunday we have some time to kill.
Chuck will not want to get in the vehicle and drive anywhere far,so can some one make suggestions on maybe some nurseries nearby...or how long a ride is it to the coast?
Retail Nursery in Alabama?
I'd guess the coast is a minimum of 4 hours.
Found this on the internet, never been there:
Gemini Farms Inc
7340 Stemley Bridge Rd
Talladega AL 35160-8777
256-268-0985
Wanna come to Montgomery? I would love to have you visit. Southern Homes and Gardens is here and is a nice nursery. Of course, I'd have plenty to share with you from my own yard. :)
How far is it from Talladega?
Busgirlie from DG lives in Alabama and works at a nursery on Saturdays right now...Check out her website and drop her a line, maybe it's near where you'll be! :) http://mygreenlife.com
That web sites sooo confusing and I don't see where an e-mail address is...Thanks for trying....I'm going to call the chamber of commerce and see if they know.....
Under "Green Life Pickins" on the left, click the link that says "contact". That has her e-mail address. You can e-mail her through DG, too: http://davesgarden.com/members/busgirlie
Try these links:
Official Talladega site: http://www.talladega.com/
Northern Alabama parks: http://www.al.com/parks/north.html
Nursey, Garden Center & Farm Supply Stores in the 205 Area Code in Alabama: http://www.gy.com/biz/444220/205.htm
You can also try http://att.com/directory and search the yellow pages' listings for garden centers or nurseries in the area. For example: http://ypng.infospace.com/_1_CMCT4D03EG5ZN__info.anywho/ypv3/cat.htm?&kcfg=ypus&ypinsp=0&fromform=dsearch&qh=garden+center&qc=talladega&qs=AL&qk=200&xmlurl=http%3A%2F%2Fyp.superpages.com%2Fxml%2FspPage.phtml%3FSRC%3DInfospace%26STYPE%3D%26PG%3DL%26C%3Dgarden%2Bcenter%26N%3D%26E%3D%26RE%3D%26K%3D%26Z%3D%26R%3DN%26PI%3D%26T%3Dtalladega%26S%3DAL%26A%3D%26X%3D%26P%3D%26NA%3D%26GL%3D%26CID%3D%26search%3DFind%2BIt&16458
Sounds like a fun getaway!
