When I lost my harddrive last year the end of June I decided to recapture some of the pictures that I had posted and I right clicked and used save as and they came back as jpeg. I later tried the exact same procedure and it came as bitmap. I also tried Myfamily.com where I also had pictures and it came back as jpeg and still comes back as jpeg.
I think I started to copy and paste later.

Netscape 6.2 works too. why do I use IE? I can't remember.

Mozilla works too. which is best Mozilla or Netscape?

The answer is "Yes". :) Netscape 6+ is based on Mozilla.

I use Galeon, which is also based on Mozilla. If I were stuck on Windows, I'd probably try out Mozilla, as well as Netscape 7 and stick with the one that was fastest and most stable.

well Netscape is definitely faster, but the font thing is hard to figure. I like the font at 75%, but then when I'm typing a message, it's tiny. I hate new things at my age:)
I'll be experimenting I can see.

I wish Netscape and IE "saw" things the same way. At my website, I have a little daily Twisted History box (just a script that plunks it there from the hosting site). In IE it looks fine, but Netscape users see it as yellow text on a yellow background - very hard to read! Blargh.

it's very hard for webmasters too! to make things all alike. I'm finding that Netscape is much slower too. I think I could live with the file thing better than typing in this tiny font (it's not the same as what's already posted)

I have Mozilla on my puter, too, just for fun. My main one, though, is IE. For all its faults, I love it still. ;)

This sounds like the problem: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;810978 I have not tried their solution just yet. I'm reading it very carefully! ;)

Hey....Has all of this happened since JAVA changed? There was some ruling which made it so Sun JAVA is what is now used with IE. I notice the little logo whenever a JAVA applet is loading. I wonder if that's it...No, wait, Dave's not updated his, and it's happening to him, too. Hmmmmmm.

GW, I have not upgraded or altered any settings at all. Yet what used to save as jpg will now only load as bitmap on this site. I went to GW and several others and they still save as jpgs for me.

I tried what the article suggested, and I still get BMP's. I've started just copying them and pasting them into Irfanview, too. It saves a step and takes up less space that way.
