Our childhood pictures

This is where I get that "easy rider" attitude from. This is my mother back in her "biker" days. Notice the white leather boots!

Oh my! GoGo boots! Hot Mama!

LOL I remember white boots! Go-Go boots were white, but shorter. This thread is one of the best ever.

Stella, you and I were posting at the same time. Maybe my memory is faulty about the Go-Go boots and these are one and the same!

No, you're right, whiterose. GoGo boots were shorter. Isn't this just the best thread? Speaking of Hopalong Cassidy, his wife, Grace Boyd is still around here and kicking up her heels. The hospital where I work (and where Hoppy died) recently had a benefit fashion show and she strutted her stuff down the runway. What a hoot she is!

I just love everyone's pics! Here is one of me (I am on the left) and one of my younger sisters. My mum made almost all of our clothes when we were young. I love my little sister in this pic...check out her little crossed legs! Circa 1976.

And here is one of me and my two older sisters. My mum said that I was born with that much hair! LOL! Although it looks like she is winding up to smack me, my older sis is just waving to the camera! :) Circa 1972

Oh, what charming photos, Rudbeckia. Dear little crossed legs in plaid pants! This thread is one of the all-time best -- we might need to have a Childhood Pictures Forum. Thank you so much for starting this thread!

Stella -- that's rich about Hopalong's wife. Love the fact that you have an autograph pic of the Cisco Kid and Pancho, too!

Laurel, DE(Zone 7a)

Stella - Hopalong's wife is still kicking it up - how wonderful, I would have never thought.

For any of you who are dying to post, but don't have a scanner, feel free to e-mail me. Perhaps we can figure something out, like you send me a pic I'll scan it and post for you and then mail the pic back. Wouldn't be any problem, if anyone is interested.

LOL I found it, here is my grandmother on her motorcycle, in her apron, and none other than me on mine in 1969 in my peacoat and loafers LOL!
What a bunch of "biker mommas" we were!

Wow look good all of you on "Biker Mommas" Cool!
Thanks for sharing~

Oh, those are wonderful! Vroom vroom, hubba hubba!

Laurel, DE(Zone 7a)

LOL - here's my dad taking my son for his first ride. Dad actually tied Tim to him with a bedsheet, my mom about had a "coniption fit"!

Thumbnail by haighr

LOL, I'll bet she did! Great photo -- you must have wonderful memories of that time.

Gee, I don't think that helmet fit your son too well. Wait...Is this the son who routinely shoots champagne corks at precious things in your home? Is there a connection!? Only the Shadow knows...

Laurel, DE(Zone 7a)

LOL Kim - That would be the son, he's come a long way hasn't he???

Jesteburg-Wiedenhof, Germany(Zone 8a)

What a great collection of pictures from everyone.

I love this sort of stuff, and although I have never met anyone, (apart from Louisa), from DG, I have the feeling that I'm getting to know you all that wee bit more.

Well done folks, and thanks Rudbeckia for starting the thread.

Here's me circa 1974. you don't see the knee high white lace up boots, but I got 'em on. I had Go-Go boots too, about 1966 0r7,and yes, they were shorter and had wider tops. They had little black heels that I polished. Also wore fishnet stockings with those things too.

This pic was me in my Sr.year at High School.I was Drill Team Capt.

Melody, that's a great picture! I can imagine the boots with that outfit. What a lovely drill team captain!

I agree with Wintermoor, it's so fun to get to know people better through this thread. He's lucky to have met Margaret, too! And that first-kilt picture is adorable.

With all these pictures, it's taking quite a while to load, so I started a new thread here: http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/374559/

Edited to correct URL 7/20/08.

GW, how funny that you thought of the cork popping photos. I did the same thing, was about to ask and then I saw your post. Okay, I'm off to the new thread.
