Our childhood pictures

Scotia, CA(Zone 9b)

Rudbeckia, Thanks for starting this. It is fun and somehow makes our cyber friendships seem more real than ever.

Now where is Wintermore...Who I picture as a rosey cheeked version on Dennis the Menice full of mischief and fun. And Windsurfer who must have a photo of herself looking innocent after playing some prank...Or Louisa grinning...or
Chama playing with finger paints... or...

yes, and we all look so innocent back then

Crossville, TN

Coco...I think that is why it was called "the age of innocence"....so cute!! Jo

Huntington Beach, CA(Zone 10a)

Ok, here I am as a child, probably about 1949 or 50 with my cat, Tom back in Gary, Indiana

Wow, you looked like your mom did when you were a little girl! Now, was that cat really big, or were you small? Great picture!

Seward, AK(Zone 3b)

I think that Tom was pretty big, but I was pretty small, too. I must have been between two and three years old at the time. That poor cat must have a special place in kitty heaven for putting up with all that 'love'.

Weezingreens! Excellent pics!

Fountain, FL(Zone 8a)

This is me at 17. My Aunt Marguerite took and developed the picture. Boy did I have a lot of freckles back then!

ROFL!!!!!!Weez that cat looks like he'd rather be doing anything else in the world!!!!!

Seward, AK(Zone 3b)

Ginger_H: You had the kind of freckles I wanted! I had the kind that looked like someone had flicked a paint spatula at me! My cruel older brothers told me peanut butter caused freckles, so I tried very hard to stop eating it... but you know a kid has to have peanut butter!

Colie: You and your dog are so sweet! Your dog looks like he had what it takes to keep up with a feisty young girl!

Root: I think Tomcats are more patient with kids than the female cats are... I sure don't know why. I used to dress him up and make him have tea with me... poor thing!

Newark, OH(Zone 5b)

Heeeeere's Howie! Check out those engineer glasses - he still has that pair (minus the earpieces). They so little, maybe 5" wide!

Three Darling Cousins:
l to r
My son, Keith (DH of TnMom), nephew, Michael (son of maryK), my DD, Melinda (weedwalker). They used to be great playmates. One day during a Cowboy-Indians shoot-out...Keith shot Mike...who being the oldest...and knew lots of TV words, kept going when Keith yelled that he was cheating as he had been killed. Mike looked Keith in the eye and said "AWW Keith, It was just a flesh wound"! LMAO!! Jo

Ok folks, there's no party without Punch (as we say in Scotland)

This was me on my 1st birthday, a long, long time ago.

In case you almost burn your eyes out trying to read the message on it: To Aunt Nessie, With All My Love, From, Wee Barry. My Aunt Nessie is my Godmother.

BTW the teddy was called "Cuddles"

Colie, how sweet that is! Are you sitting on your very own pony, and what was his or her name? You remind me of a little Annie Oakley.

No,but-I would have loved to have had a pony.
Back in the 50's some man went from town to town taking pictures of all the kids on this pony.Everybody I knew had their picture made on this pony.By the way I use to love to watch Annie Oakley on Sat. mornings along with all the other great westerns.Oh,my-I'm old.

Then we're both old, because I loved them, too. Annie Oakley, Roy Rogers and Dale Evans, The Lone Ranger, Sky King...ah, those were the days!

Cambria, CA(Zone 10a)

I actually met the Cisco Kid and Poncho once when I was wee. Got an autographed 8x10 out of him too, just lost it somewhere along the way. Weren't those just the greatest way to start you weekend? Or end it, Sunday evenings, with Disney, Lassie, Gunsmoke and then, if you were really, really good and didn't have school the next morning, Paladin. Nostalgia's a great thing. And these wonderful old photos are a great way to get to know ya'll.

Wintermoor, I must say, the only guy I've seen look better in a kilt is Sean Connery.

MERCER, PA(Zone 5a)

To tell you how dumb I was, I thought that Paladin's first name was "Wire" !! Sorry youngsters, you had to have seen the show and Paladin's business card to understand this.

Oh, Paladin! Lassie! Chester and Marshall Dillon! Hand me a hankie!

The Lone Ranger & Tonto-'Kemo sabe'.
Wagon Train with Robert Horton as Flint McCullough.
mmmmm-it's nice thinking back on these good old times.

New Iberia, LA(Zone 9a)

Oh I love to watch Annie Oakley and she is so beautiful little girl until old still beautiful lady always. i like watch old movies. Also my favortie watch Shirly Temple!
