Since this is the season to order seeds AND work on completing the PDB entries, I hit on an idea that helps me accomplish both goals.
As I research plants that I'm considering ordering, I first check the PDB for details.
If there are any "blanks spots" in the entry (height, zone, etc.), I usually go looking on the 'net or through my books for that information for my own benefit.
Once I find the information, it only takes a few seconds to add it to the PDB entry, then it will be there for other gardeners' benefit.
That's the commitment part.
Now for the resolution. As these plants grow and mature, I'm promising myself that I'll come back and add a note about my personal experience with the plant.
I thought I'd share my idea to help spur all of us to do our part to join in the PDB chalenge this month, even though we're also busy with winter gardening tasks and placing our seed/plant orders.
A gardening commitment and resolution
Wonderful idea! This is planting time in California and I've bought a ton of plants. Have even managed to shoehorn most of them in so far! Since the plant tags are right there in front of me (instead of overshadowed by leaves, buried in mulch, etc., as time goes on) I will vow to take pictures and enter info on plants not yet in the PDB for my first 2003 resolution.
