What's hot and your favorite oldies?

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

Okay, so it is time to order or chose what to grow. I know there are postings about favorite catalogues and how you chose what to grow. I don't get many catalogues anymore, I guess because I don't buy much. LOL So what are the neatest new introductions to die for?? And what are your most favorite, had forever garden 'staple' plants??

Tried and true? Where would I be without my day lilies! In my zone 7b, I've never had a season of disappointment. Two new finds for me in the last two years have been "Million Bells" Petunias and "Blue Daze". Both annuals that are tolerant of our blazing heat and humidity. I've used them both in containers and in the ground with equal success.

Hey girl!!! It's SO GOOD to see you posting. I just got some sidalcea seeds from Studley and I'm anxious to grow them. I did order some seeds from Tom Clothier just because he's retiring and I wanted to get some of his garden before he left us even though I already have some of his seeds/flowers in my garden. And guess what one of the seeds I ordered from him was - Astrantia Major - Duh, Imagaine that! Might have to send you some so grow for me - LOL. But to tell you the truth, I introduced so many new plants to my garden last year thanks to people like you and so many others at DG that I doubt I'll grow much new. One thing I really really really want is the perennial RED verbena that is more like a ground cover and grows sideways..does that make sense??? I have one corner of the house that is perfect for it. I also fell in love with dahlias last year and will probably pick some up at Walmart in the boxes but also some seed as well. I'm most excited to see all the daylilies bloom that you and Peggy sent me. I also have my favorite annuals that I plant each too like zinnias, impatience, etc. So what are you growing Michele? And again...WELCOME BACK!

Grove City, OH(Zone 6a)

I got my Park Countryside Garden catalogue today, and I actually saw a daylily that I fell in love with! So far I have avoided the daylily crazy (note to fans: yes, I do have several kinds, but they are not one of my "gotta have"). This one, though, hmmmm. 'Rainbow Candy'. Fragrant extended-blooming, re-blooming daylily. I just know if I get it, it will start a new craze for me though. Can I resist? Can you?

So glad to see you posting again, 'Chele! Happy New Year! Does this mean you are back to part-time?
