I got another seed catalogue in the mail today, with a public apology on the front cover. They acknowledge the power (without saying in so many words) that on-line gardening sites have in spreading the word about companies that fail to live up to expectations. They promise to do better this year. No, I have never ordered from that company in the past, don't plan to in the future, but somehow they got my name and address.
In the end, we gardeners will emerge as winners!!!
As a reminder, mail-order companies you have good, bad, or indifferent experience with, post your comments in the Garden Watchdog! It is helping.
Gardeners are winning!!!!
That's interesting. Did you check to see what they look like in the Garden Watchdog?
Lots and lots of negatives (11) from '02 in Garden Watchdog. Since I don't have past dealings with them, I can't speak about the company.
But it was so good to see that they put a BIG public apology on the cover to know that the holding company is having to sit up and take notice of their customers!!!
We gardeners win: good companies, good plants, good seeds, good word of mouth. Good Dave's Garden!
Which company was it?
Dave you have mail :)
I saw that also, it was R.H.Shumway.
I think someone bought up a bunch of these companies. Alot of the companies are located in Randolph, Wisconsin now.
Its a very small town. Different names same addresses.
