Park's Catalog - scratching my head

Murfreesboro, TN(Zone 7a)

Anybody else get a strange catalog this year? Pages 4-22 are repeated twice, then it skips from page 22 to 44. Of course, that also messes up the back half of the catalog, where page numbers 64-82 are repeated, but (here's the even stranger part), the pages themselves are fine, they're just misnumbered.

Hmmmm. Last year I didn't get a catalog at all (despite my repeated requests for one) and this year the catalog appears to have been edited badly. Here's hoping the quality controls for their seed is better than their catalog and mailing database!

I have one on it's way, go vols! Must check this out!!! happy gardening for now....Elaine

Mine arrived yesterday. Page numbers are fine. When I started reading your post, I thought your first sentence referred to "the strange catalog". No real photo on the cover, check out the little girl & cleome on page 2. Thing looks like something made up by Gurneys or such. Prices seem fairly high as is a rule with them.

Sorry I forgot to mention pages 8 & 9. How about the kid on page 15, are people going to expect things they buy from us to grow like that? Almost false advertizing, think Park would have more class.
Look on page 21, Verbena Tower Collection. Thing must be 10 ft. high according to the picture, discription says, low spreading plant - spreads up to 3 ft wide. LOL!
Towards the back of the catalog I found what must be some kind of insert, doubled, but both sliced at an angle. Shows some strawberries on one side, a flower on the other. Pictures of hanging baskets, only a person with vast knowledge could grow baskets like those. Most would probably have 10 or more plants in each & take constant care, like 2 -3 times a day!

I agree, pages 8-9 looked like Gurneys, et al. When I got to that page, I immediately flipped back to the cover to reassure myself it was actually Park's.

Also notice this year they used Park's Seed - if I'm not mistaken in years past, they've usually referred to themselves as Park Seed.

If no one else got the goofy page numbers, I think I'll ask them to send me another one :)

Oh I hate to hear this. I'm still waiting on mine and I was going to order some stuff. Now I'm a little worried. I'll let you know what mine looks like when it arrives. GV, definitely call and order another one and tell them about the pages.

I haven't gotten mine yet, and I always have been impressed with the high quality of their seeds. Hope Park hasn't been consumed by the dreaded spread of the conglomerate buying spree like so many others ...

I'd save your wacked out catalog, could be a collectors item some day!!LOL
Mine is fine......

Got mine today (very unusual to get bulk mail on Mondays) and it was fine. Must have been a printer's error. I dug out last year's catalogue and it is Park's Seed.

Bernie, possibly the reason the prices seem higher is because they have much lower shipping charges than most other places: the cost of the postage is partly included in with the seed packets. I have done math with several companies in the past, and they all work out about the same for identical orders. I rely on the quality of the company for my orders, not necessarily the price. Park has never let me down.

Well, I've requested a second catalog and explained the problems with the first. BTW, their website is (still) Park Seed, not Park's Seed. It's a trivial issue, but I looked because I remembered it was awkward to use Park (rather than the more commonly used "Park's") when I set up their entry in the Watchdog.

I had a catalog from Johnny's that was missing some pages.
That happens at the printing company. E-mail them and had a new one in about 3 days.
Park's definately has a new logo. Old one said "Park Seed"
plus R in a circle, new one is "Park's Seeds", no R in a circle.
Don't get me wrong, I have always liked their seed and the selection. Like someone said, you hate to see them go the same as some other old companies have.
