bare rooted tree peony

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

I got 4 tree peony off e-bay,they are pretty good size and bare rooted. The stated in the add that its not to late to plant, but here it has gone below 0 a few times and we have about a foot of snow still on the ground.I do have an area of the garden that the ground does not freeze but would they be alright there.
I thought about putting them in pots in the GH or in pots in the unheated garage(but it does freeze in there at times)
they are dormant.....

any help would be appriciated!

Definitely not in the GH, they need their cold treatment. The roots might actually be more insulated in the ground, than in pots. So, I'd plant them in the ground, if you can still dig. They will need full sun when they start to grow and bloom. Good luck! John

If you can't plant them because of frozen ground or too much snow, just heel them in until spring. Or you could put them in pots, and sink the pots in the un-frozen part of your garden. Lots of options :)
