Janet, your girls certainly did a beautiful job decorating that tree. I love older ornaments, and homemade ones are very special.

Villa Rica, GA(Zone 7a)

They sure did do a good job Janet! I love the homemade ornaments too the ones they make in school are really special! They always get a charge out of seeing the ones they made the year before. Priceless!!

Laurel, DE(Zone 7a)

That is really quite a job they did there. I have an entire box of crocheted ornaments I made years ago, and of course all the ornaments and cut outs Tasha and Tim made years ago. Believe it or not, I do have a bag full of popcorn that we strung in (get ready) 1985, yep that long ago. That string of popcorn was on a 6' tree and to this day it is still as white as the day it was popped and still hanging on that double thread. Several years ago we put up a second tree in the rec room and actually decorated it with that popcorn, the crocheted ornaments, the kids homemade ornaments and a few of the ornaments my mom always put on the tree. My kids thought it was the greatest tree ever! I even had my Dallas Cowboy ornament hanging in front of their Redskins LOL!

Yes, I want to see more tree pictures, too! Especially since I can't have one and love Christmas trees so much. Everyone is so creative here.

This must come under the heading of "What Will She Think of Next???"

We always had Christmas trees as our wee boy was just growing, and still expected Santa to come bye with his sleigh and reindeer. He didn't dare ask how he got down our non-existent chimney. We had a normal Christmas tree until about 5 years ago, until he said he would like something different, something special. So SWMBO made a 11ft cactus, and covered it with lights. I came back from a visit to Scotland, and there was this enormous cactus with little white lights all over standing in the corner of the gallery. At first I thought it was real, but after cleaning my glasses realised that it was home made. A Christmas cactus !! Sadly I didn't take a picture of it, but we've still got it in the cellar, maybe it'll see the light of day sometime again.

BUT THIS YEAR, not being practising Christians, SWMBO decided to go completely Pagan, and now in ancient Germanic tradition, we have brought a tree, which was blown down in a storm, into the house, to give it warmth, and shelter. The only difference from ours to the ancient Huns, is that ours have electric lights, whereas the Ancients would set little lights under the tree to keep it warm. This tree will be replanted in the spring at the same place it was found, and hopefully will grow again.

Here's a picture of our Christmas tree for 2002. Somehow I wish we had the Christmas cactus back ;-)

Wow! Cool tree. (Nice pic of your wife, too!)
Thanks! ;>)

Mystic, your tree is gorgeous. Are those trophies on the bookshelf behind it? What a marvelous contrast with Wintermoor's minimalist Germanic found tree -- both are wonderful. I would love to see the Christmas cactus, too, if you ever put it up again, Barry.

This is my tree this year grown right down the road from my house. Max my American Eskimo loves when the lights are on and lays next to it.

Such a beautiful tree and sweet dog.

Oh your trees are so pretty, and Wintermoor, I love the tiny lights on your tree.

Helsinki, Finland(Zone 4b)

Everyone have so compact trees, and so full of everything...

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

snow, yours is great! they all are, glad I can enjoy them all this way!

Mighty fine looking trees here.
Went back in my Christmas photo albums and would you all believe that the last time I put a tree up was back in '98'; so don't have no recent tree picture to post; sorry.

Villa Rica, GA(Zone 7a)

:( CoCo Would have loved to see a pic of your tree

Here's Lotusblossom's tree this year. The star on top of it belonged to Bob's grandmother. :)

A very nice tree, but I want that beautiful window!
Merry Christmas
Bernie

Wow, LB has a gorgeous tree AND a beautiful corner -- that window is really something. I can't believe her cats can resist playing with those decorations!

Villa Rica, GA(Zone 7a)

How pretty!! I am so glad to be able to share my holiday with ya'll. With all these beautiful trees I feel like I am already there with ya'll!
Like Jo I have seen several presents with my name on them LOL

Beautiful Jody!

Awwww PJ she is sooo cute!! Lovely tree too!

Jonesboro, GA(Zone 7b)

And this is my wall tree in the living room - don't have our big tree up yet, it will be in the basement.

Laurel, DE(Zone 7a)

All these trees are so inspiring. The wall tree especially looks like my place with all the poinsettias, I have them all over. Can't wait to see how they decorate in the Caribbean, I wonder if they use the same themes of pine and wreaths?

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

love those PJ, and Hannah is a little doll!!!

Jonesboro, GA(Zone 7b)

Thanks - I've used them for years, since I worked at "Silk Greenhouse" til they went out of business, I have tons of Christmas decoratons, most of which I don't even put out anymore.

Newark, OH(Zone 5b)

These are so fun to look at! That wall tree is neat. Jody - I like that Santa in the second shot. Mom's stained glass windows were made for her by a friend; before they were inserted, those had the original mullioned windows. There's one on each side of what used to be a fireplace.

GW I love LB's tree, the houses, the window and is that hand painting above the door? It's beautiful. The houses reminded me of last year. I helped a co-worker find a kitten for his mother for Christmas. She was thrilled. Soon after Christmas she came home to find kitty laying in the middle of her Christmas village. He brought a photo in - looked like Godzilla in Tokyo.

MD &, VA(Zone 7b)

Thanks Molly and GW.

GW, I collect Santa's, don't know how it happend, it just did, LOL. The one you see is my favorite, a gift from my mom a couple years ago. I'll have to try to remember to take a pic of all my Santys to post. Some of the nicer ones are wayyyy expensive so I only get 1 or sometimes 2 new ones a year.
