A friend's viburnum has mottled leaves. It is like someone sprayed bleach on the leaves. Not brown spots like pests make but rather lighter green splotches. There is no sign of any pests. What could this be? It seems to be getting worse.
Walter's Viburnum
Mottled leaves always make me think of viruses. I don't have a clue what would infect a viburnum though. It might benifit him to take a branch with the leaves to the co-operative extention in the area to find out.
I've seen that phenomenon in central FL, too. It was on some trees. I figured someone probably hit it with some sort of chemical spray that caused the chlorophyll to die. The leaves don't look dead. The plants look like they are variegated in a random fashion.
