Spicewood, TX(Zone 8b)

Allllright, tiG and Kell ~ you two better settle down or I'll turn this website right around and we'll go home! I mean it!

Aimee ~ YOU nut! ;) Don't you know that country girls are the smart ones to start with? *sly grin* "A country girl will survive..." ;) SO, which one did you think I'd use as an avatar? This one:

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

too cute Wingnut........... did you make those yourself or is there a Avatar page in cyberspace??

PS: tiG and I can't help ourselves, it is like a bad case of sibling rivalry!!!

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

uh oh, I see a bad thing starting here!!!!

Spicewood, TX(Zone 8b)

Thanks Whiterose! And you, too, Kell! I made them ~ ripped the wings right off a pretty little dove (don't tell my therapist) and put them on the clip art of the other nuts.

It's okay, tiG! I promise! You can sit up front, sweetheart (but dont' tell Kell until we have her firmly locked in the trunk)...

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

well you are so clever Wingnut!!!!

And you better not put me in the trunk and let tiGgums sit up front. WHAA WHAA WHAA Tell the truth, did tiG pay you in pink brugs to say that???

Spicewood, TX(Zone 8b)

I promise to not let tiG sit up front ... (until she gets off the trunk...)

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

sure tiG, sit on me in the trunk. and here I thought you loved me.

Spicewood, TX(Zone 8b)

Oh, she does! She does! It's for your own good, honey. No wire hangers and all that...

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

I love ya kell, but what happens to the rest of the world if we let you loose????? thanks for helping out Wingnut!!!

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

well at least send me somewhere great while I am stuck in here................... like Germany or to see Ludger or Tonny!!!

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

they might declare that an act of agression!! lol!!

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

You are just afraid they would give me some euro pinks to help me regain my rightful title of queen of the pinks.............. shame on you tiGgles!!

We better go back the brug forum tiGgums, I just realized we are in a public place!!! LOL

I am dsl and do not see any slowness loading, but not very many people here seem to like the idea, so I don't think we should do it.

Someone mentioned a program called Eye Candy with which one could design their own logos. I just steal clip art I find on line, but the beetle is part of avery label pro. Many sites have free clip art, but the animated ones are distracting to look at, and should not be allowed.

I don't know how difficult it would be for Dave to implement, but maybe a "roll over" would be the way to have them but not have them. You could post your AV on your home page along with your "real" picture. LOL Through a little of Dave's magic, if you rested your cursor on someone's name, a small window could pop up with their AV. Just a thought.

If one is using many broads such as me, I like the idea of an AV that one could use on many different sites. That way, when people go to a new site and see your logo, they know that is you. The problem is nicks get taken up and then I find it hard to pick a different nick on every site. The logo allows you to be more then something like Mary75.

If DG was to have AV's, I would think it would be best for each member to find and upload their own AV. Like you said, Bug_Girl, you have one that you like to use to identify yourself no matter what board you are at.

Actually AVs are all new to me, I never heard of them before last week, when I joined a site that had them. I use to work on the member page, but the problem was I think no one ever sees it, or else there is that paranoia about putting too much personal stuff on line about ones self on line.

I am definitely for avatars!

Warm up the site!

Any changes can have potential problems but remember - Dave is really a Web Master Wizard! Have faith that he can make it work for us.

On other sites - when you set up your personal page and preferences - where you choose your screen name there is
just a place for you to upload a pic from your hard drive.
Then every time you post to a thread it comes up right
along with Name, City, Zone, Date, Time.
There was even room for you to write a sentence or so that
would post up with this info. Like a slogan or a favorite quip you use.

What do you think, Dave? Are you lurking? Or just mulling it over. :)

A couple days ago I had posted to this thread my thoughts. To summarize, the answer is "no". :)

So to some, an avatar would truly be a sacred cow? ;)

Toadsuck, TX(Zone 7a)

Maybe to some..........

:) Dave. I use a slow computer with a modem and it would be too slow for me. Thanks for making that decision. :) Lani

GW, how would we know it was sacred? I suppose, out of habit, we would assume differently.
