Question about HID lights

Kylertown, PA(Zone 5b)

How does a lumen compare to a footcandle? Are they basically the same thing?

Thanks, Badseed. The first link made my eyes glaze over before I got to the second paragraph (and I remembered why I never considered majoring in EE.) The second link made me go back and re-read the first link. The third link confirmed what I thought I was reading ;~)

With that photo you posted on the ID forum, I'm starting to wonder what you're growing, lolol.

LMBO Brugs officer, just Brugs! Notice the B in those words! I read something on the Brug forum about 1000 W HID lights and it had me wondering about the different types of bulbs too. Can't say I have ever seen anything that high aside from halogens.

Well folks, I was terrible at math. If I light I wanted to buy was 25,000 lumens, and 1 footcandle = 1 lumen/ft squared, what exactly does that mean in terms of footcandles?

Thanks for looking all this stuff up Badseed. I used Google to try and find something, but I guess I wasn't typing in the right keywords or something.
