anyone have a good organic way to get rid of those greyish squash bugs other than spraying them with the water hose or hand picking them?

mix 1 tsp DE in with a gallon of water and spray them.

Hmmm, I havent' tried that tiG but will surely remember that one. I've used a strong solution of Safer's Soap...you have to add isoproply alcohol to the mix tho, but it works great!
I also like to trick the little boogers into coming out of hiding! Go down the row and water your plants with a spray hose. Squash bugs hate to get wet so they'll crawl to the top of the plants to bask and dry off in the sun. Once they're up there and out in the open then go back with your sprayer tank and let 'em have it! Hehehe, nah-nahhh nah-boo boo ♫♫♫ you pesky squash bugs!

maybe this is silly, but what does DE stand for?

I am trying to control squash bugs, which are attacking my ronde de nice squash, cucumber, and eggplant like crazy. they completely killing my soybeans....

the funny thing is, i've heard of nasturtiums being resistant to most bugs, but these bugs absolutely devoured my nasturtiums!

what's up with this?

Howdy Joy... and WELCOME to DG!

"DE" is diatomaceous earth. It is a "powder" type bug killer/repellent and tends to cut into the shells/skin of many bugs when they walk into it (or have it sprinkled on them).

To me it is rather expensive to use for large areas. For your squash bugs use some soap and alcohol sprays, much cheaper. Hadn't heard squash bugs would go for soybeans but guess that is a possibility...(rabbits got all my soybeans!).
