Hi, Mimi. I just love zinnias! I can't grow them here, but I remember them from my childhood in Indiana. My father always had a row of zinnias in his garden.

Your website reminds me of a story I say on TV about a man who owns a gas station down south somewhere. He had a vacant lot next to his station, and it looked pretty sad, so he plowed it up and planted zinnias on it. It's become tradition for him, and he gives bouquets of zinnias to his regular customers when they buy gas.

I'll grow some for you next year! hows about that! Some kind soul on DG told me to try them in the morning sun . so. I did and am I ever pleased I did. Can;t wait to add more next year. You can probably grow those blue poppies and I can;t.

Yup, sure can! When you plant those zinnias, plant some peppermint stick and those little Lilliputs for me.

I found the catalog website for Burpee seed, and they have several kinds listed. They called the striped ones "Candy Cane", not peppermint stick. The second page has the lilliputs. They're a dwarf variety.
