Home Depot's Garden Ad

Philadelphia, PA(Zone 6b)

Has anyone heard the latest garden ad from Home Depot? I get in stitches everytime I hear it and I think about all of the DG members here with the same addiction..lol. I know I'll botch the ad but it goes something like this (it's really funny to hear it on the radio)..

It all started with a flower gift..then I had to get some soil and containers..oh, how I really loved annuals..all the colors..somehow I bought a perennial..it needed companions..so here I am..getting loads of them..perennials can be such fun..now I've moved onto shrubs and trees, somebody help me. It's getting out of control. I think I have a problem..now I'm into grasses and dear..roses, of all things. Somebody stop me before I can't turn back. See now, I had to do it. I made it all the way to ponds and I can't stop...

Someone from Davesgarden had to have their hand into making this radiomercial..lol. Giggle when you hear it..he he!

Is that really how we all became addicted.....lol. Seems a million light years away. Thanks Trish, really funny - I will look out for the ad.

Oh, how very true. Yep, I have a greenhouse full of seedlings. Guess where I went today. You guessed it right, if it was PLant Shopping. Boy, and did I ever buy. Wal Mart had all these perennials and daylilies that I have wanted for years and in such good health. Must have been a new shipment. They were for my birthday. I came home singing Happy Birthday to Me to soften up Hubby. Hey, I bought him a pair of shoes. Going back to Home Depot this weekend, spied a few things, I gotta have. It never ends.

Dont we all love these ads there arent very many of them. I like the one for Garden.com (last year it was on Tv. Burpee bought it out ,it went under) any way two guys are telling gardening jokes over the fence and the people around them are looking at them like they are from another planet. While the two gardeners are laughing. No one gets the joke.
Or the one with the wife talking about how the hubby takes care of the lawn and she takes care of her flowers with Preen and Greeen ( or something like that) and then she says now ......"Dear?....Dear?" (here hubby is asleep in the hammock, snoring and swatting a fly from his face) she says "Sorry ladies he's taken!"

Ok. I'll admit it. I wrote the Home Depot ad.

....NOT. (Wish I could take credit for it, though!) :-9

All it takes is me not having it, and I'll need it! I tell everyone I'm a hopeless cause because there's no such thing as "gardener's anounymous "! ( And I hope there NEVER is!! My hubby would put me there so quick my head would spin! )
