Willow Chairs and Yard Art

Hampstead, NC(Zone 8a)

I'm still trying to figure out how to post what where, but this is the only way I could figure out how to post a pic. Sorry if I'm doing it all wrong. I want to find out how/where/when to grow willow to make willow chairs. I've made the pictured one with tree limbs from the woods, and plan to have perwinkle and ivy grow up over it. If anyone knows where I can find black willow, when where how I plant it, and if anyone has made any yard art/furniture and could share their ideas I would greatly appreciate it!

Thanks!

I love that bench, can I have it?? LOL!!! you did a great job and you have me on the lookout for willow!

Thanks Tig, I looks like the willow chair industry is great in Canada where it grows wild! I'll have to figure out how to grow it down here! The bench was my therapy, and a training in hammering! I have never been able to hammer a nail! Finally bought a drill. Worked great!

Nice job! A friend of mine makes stuff out of cedar. I'm sure you have plenty of that Donna.
Good work! Keep it up!

Hi Donna, a beautiful bench! Be sure to enter the photo in the Garden Art Photo Contest that is now under way. Go to belledonna's menu and then Contest. Good luck!

That is really nice, I love rustic stuff. Did you also make the little table?

Hampstead, NC(Zone 8a)

Yes MaryE,

The little jug was from a trash pile out in the woods where the ole home place used to be and the peacock feathers are from my little peacock who is shedding everywhere! Now if I can learn to paint or something with all those feathers! :-)
