(You don't know how nice it is to have fresh flowers from the garden in the house once again! Forgive my excitement.)
Vase#1 An opaque cobalt blue cone shaped art deco looking thing with a silver metal base to keep the cone shape upright. In it is Unknown bearded iris #1, with cream standards and periwinkle blue falls, that smells strongly of cloves. Also there is unknown bearded iris #2, a solid periwinkle blue that smells of cherry Kool-aid. The roses in vase #1 are Larry Daniels and Barbara Worl. Their different but complemetary shades of cool pink really go with the blues in the iris. I also included several blooms of a just opening white peony that almost matches the cream in the iris standards. Included for "greenery" are a few sprigs of silver artemesia, and there is some spicy smelling Cheddar Pinks dianthus tucked in and around as well.
Vase #2 A crystal iced tea glass. In it are some light purple Dutch iris with yellow accents, sweet smelling Golden Celebration roses, spikes of blurple Maynight salvia, columbines in various shades of purple and yellow from light to dark, and for "greenery", Gold Mound spirea stems with the pink bloom pods still so tightly closed that they look purple.
Vase #3 A thrift shop teacup with pink and yellow roses on it filled with Souvenir de la Malmaison roses and nothing else.
Vase#4 Cheap green glass vase wrapped in lace, and filled with dark purple mystery bearded iris #3 that smells exactly like grape Nehi, Golden Celebration roses, Tom's Mystery Red Climber roses, Summer Snow roses, more silver artemesia, some bright green boxwood, and some blue green cedar foliage. This one is for my husband to take to the company adminisrative assistant tomorrow. The bright colors are really showy from a distance.
Life is *good*!
Sunflower

In today's vase.....
Sunflower sounds quite lovely. What a way to brighten a room, hardly any other embellishment is required :-)
