Finally got to meet the "woman behind the man". She is such a nice girl...as well as pretty~!!! No wonder Alex is so pretty...with a Mom and Dad like she has.Jo & Carol
Family from Moondance Farm.
So nice to meet you "Mrs. Horseshoe". What a lovely family! Thanks for sharing RR.
What a beautiful wife and daughter. Just goes to show that our 'Shoe' has great taste. Thanks Jo and Carol!!
What a great looking family. I can see Alex takes after her mom and dad. Alexandra so great to finally meet ya.
Alexandra, we would have loved to have met you at the roundup, but we know it's you that worked so hard to let Shoe be able to come. Hope to meet you someday, you have a fine husband and wonderful daughter.
Mrs Horseshoe so good to meet you wish it could be in person, maybe someday. You have a good ole boy there and and little doll daugther we really enjoyed being with them at the RU.
Ruth
I knew she was all of that, or he couldn't be all of him! So happy to meet you, Mrs. Shoe. Don't be a stranger.
Shoe, You have two beautiful ladies.
What a beautiful family! So glad to *meet* you Alexandra and Alex!
I hope to meet all of you in person someday, hopefully at next year's roundup if I win this years election. If I don't, then I need to win a lottery or something, but it can be done. The power of positive thinking. LOL!
'shoe, now that we've met your wife and daughter and know them by their names, do you have a name? Your name cannot be Horseshoe I'm thinking.
Well, HI Alexandra! Your copatriots we've met, but it sure is nice to see you here. :D JoanJ...It starts with an R and ends with an X. But he honest to goo-ness goes by the nomaker Horseshoe!
Hi Mrs. Shoe, so nice to finally meet you.
Shoe, you do have a beautiful family.
Hah! I had a feeling that pic would turn out good! (In spite of the fact that DW made me take my hat off!)
It also looks like RR knows how to take a better pic than she lets on, too!
Joan, there was a thread on here a while back about 'how did you get your DG name' or something to that effect...just can't find it right now.
Yep folks! This is the bosslady, the woman beside the man (not behind him)! Now you know who allows me to spend so much time at DG! And never complains about it!
What a great picture, roadrunner! Hello to Shoe's DW. You have a beautiful family, Shoe!
So it's Rex, GW? Hey, Shoe, I like that, beside, not behind. I have often wondered how you made this work, but had no idea you had such a sweet, tiny lady as your copilot. I think she might have a thing for you, to let you get away with being you.
What a precious family. I had a sneaking suspicion that Alexandra had to be a pretty special lady to be the mother and wife of such charming folks. I am glad that we finally got to see the woman "beside" the man. Alex is truly a very special and lucky little girl to have such wonderful parents.
It's nice to meet your family,Shoe.Wish I could meet you all in person.
Thanks for all the compliments, folks! I have to agree w/ya tho, we DO have a great fambly! Alexandra will love hearing your fine words (I'm actually a bit slow around here w/compliments!).
Since they are leaving to visit family up north (for nine days!) I thought I'd print out this thread for them and they'll have something to read on the plane~!
Thanks again!
Now that's one bee-yew-tee-full family! Hi, Mrs. 'Shoe! Alexandra, right? Welcome to DG! Now you gotta' get on here and tell us about all those details on the stories that 'Shoe's leavin' out. ;) Any lady that can put up with him HAS to be a character in her own right! :)
Man am I loving this......Howdy, Alexandra!! You done a right good job of raising them two!! And, I really love the name of yer farm too!! So good to finally see you and welcome you!! Now 'Shoe......you better take care of those two beauties, or it'll be a trip behind the woodshed fer you young man!!
"eyes"
Finally get to see the woman behind the man..very pretty, no wonder Alex is so pretty! And folks..guess what...She is a great artist too! I have one of her drawings that I will cherish! So nice to see you..now yall just need to bring yerself down here...Lisa
Beautiful family Horseshoe!!
Now I know where you get your good looks from ;-)
Wintermoor
Ah Winter don't be telling him those things he will get a big head! lol :) But it is a beautiful family!
Aren't they just a great lookin' family Mystic??
These sort of people are drawn together, and live and love together.
Great photo... and as I said "Now I know ......"
Wintermoor
So glad to see ya all together - great picture, great family!!
Wintermoor! You behave! I get my smiles, NOT GOOD LOOKS, from them two! (I got my "good looks" from a dog I used to have, Rhubarb...he used to steal Granny's rhubarb pies off the window sill and meet me out back by the big acorn tree to share them w/me! I think to this day a good rhubarb pie will bring you youth, smiles, and happiness in day to day life!) (He sure was a smart dog, weren't he?)
Now as for the woodshed! Eyes, it takes a mighty big piece of willow branch to make me cry out loud! (And just in case you have one, trust me...I do my best! Honest!!)
Mystic, you're so right! All these compliments make my head swell up...am popping my hat off here! Thanks!
Thanks folks! Ya'll are the best! We're all "DG" ain't we!? Love it!
Shoe...my favorite pie! Rhubarb....I like it stewed too!
Hmmm...may have to plague you with a small chapter Vic! Beware!
Wonderful family you've got there Shoe.Lovely wife and daughter. I have to tell you I have an honest to goodness Shoe-mater sitting on my table right now thanks to RR. I must say it will probably be the only vine ripe one I get this year as my plants are just starting to get flowers and we are running out of time for them to ripen. I'll have the Shoe-mater in a salad tomorrow.
Wow! Snowhermit!..tell me more! Is it one of the bigguns? one of the little ones? what kind? Them maters are a'traveling!
Don't know what kind Shoe. It's medium size and a little squished on one side but it's made a long journey.
I love Rhubarb pies!!!!
My Gran used to make me an extra wee pie in a wee dish. The others in the family got theirs´out of a big dish ... but the wee one was always MINE!!! then she poured nice thick custard over it ... and it was my favourite dessert.
I can imagine your dog luvvin it too 'Shoe!! Even my Aunts got jealous of me gettin' my own wee dish of rhubarb pudding, and then that vanilla custard on top.... oooohhhh.. I can taste it now.... but don't tell me you got the good looks from yer dog!!!
You got the peaceful look from your ladies (as you say).... er.... that's it.... I think......lovely family... nice one m8.. that's it now.... I think ... bed time... G'nite
zzzzzzzz
Wintermoor
Dogs! So is it a "slicer" looking type? Or a paste type? (As you can see, I'm awondering where these maters are going!)
Either way, its gonna be a good taster!
It's a slicer Shoe and that's what I'm going to do with it tomorrow. :)
Yee-haw! That's what I was hoping!...
That there is the best mater I've tasted in years. Perfect texture, wonderful taste! You'll love it! Wish I could send you more...picked quite a few pounds yesterday!
(As we speak I have maters in the stock pot cooking down for either juice or sauce, depends on how lazy I get!)
This will be the first year that we won't have any tomatoes and maybe no cukes either. The frost lasted long up here this spring and we could'nt plant them out soon enough. Your mater will sure be good tomorrow.
oh my...wonder how far ya'l are from me...I should drive ya up a bunch!
Anyone ever ship maters before? Snow NEEDS 'em!
LOL Shoe. You're a good man but it's way to far to bring maters. I'll beg, borrow or steal some from the neighbors. ;)
so Shoe, what kind is this wonderful mater, and are you saving me seeds??
Shoe...I was so happy to meet The Snowhermits...that I just HAD to give them my ONLY shoe mater...I brung it all the way from NC and was going to eat it on bread...but I knew you'd want to share your bounty this way. (I picked the best of the bag you gave me so it was a "slicer"!) Jp
Oh RR, if I knew that was your only Shoe mater I would have ate it slower. LOL. It was so good. Probably my first and only fresh mater this year. As you could tell my mater plants weren't that big and don't think I'll even get any green ones on them. Thanks for sharing. :)
