Hello, here is a site with alot of info on growing clematis. I hope it helps.

I have heard that it takes a really long time to germinate but a lady that has grown some from seed uses a little trick. She puts the seed in the freezer for about 2 weeks or so and takes them out to room temp for awhile then puts them in the freezer again, she does this 3 or 4 times and then surface sow them, she has had good luck doing this and now her plants are looking really good. Let me know how it goes.
