This evening I was down in my garden and something stunk so bad. I followed my nose and finally pinpointed the smell to the white yarrow. Ugg! This is the second year I've had it, but it didn't bloom last year. Now it's blooming and it's losing it's appeal for me real fast. Does anyone else think it stinks? I'm even considering ripping it out.

i have some red ones, never really notice if they have smell or not. one thing i notice is they do scratch the skin when i tried to weed around them. i guess i will have to observe that one of these days. when i work around them, i never notice if they smell or not. will let u know what i find out.

I don't have the white, just pink and paprika. I think the foliage stinks, but never noticed if the flowers do too.

I didn't know there was a white yarrow or red either. I know there is pastel yarrow. I have yellow Yarrow and it does smell bad if you get up close to it. But you can't smell it from A distance.

I know that a lot of people around here like to dry it and use it in arrrangements.

I have pink yarrow, was weeding and trimming next to it and didn't notice any unpleasant odor. MaVie, I never heard of a red one, how about posting a picture?

if not mistaken it is what Cala mentioned as Paprika which is red in color. it is neat. from red it goes into yellow as it matured. ok i will try to get u a pic. will post in this forum on another thread... as red yarrow. brb...

I have found with the white yarrow that once it blooms it will reseed everywhere...Can hardly get rid of it.....Didn't find that so with the red and pink....it does have a smell all its own...LOL
