DG 2nd anniversary pary

Bodrum, Turkey(Zone 10a)

Are you kidding Evert, I would love some.......love all kinds of fruit juices......

Helsinki, Finland(Zone 4b)

Allright, wait a sec have to add some water to the juice concentrate.

Bodrum, Turkey(Zone 10a)

That's the best way to make it Evert.

Efland, NC(Zone 7a)

Worm ranch, Azalea!? Shhh...('member the "C" word?) That's a dangerous bizness to get into. I think it is safer to relate to you about my 6-legged turkey.

Now, where'd you set that hard lemonade? And Arlene's bbq?

Rethymno, Crete, Greece(Zone 10b)

Yess.. it is absolutely true, and no exaggeration at all.

In this garden I found peace, friends to talk, plants to grow. I also found a superbly organised internet service, with excellent details tailored to suit the user, continuous improvements, fast and accurate modifications, personal interference and so on..

Congratulations Dave, and Thank you

Congratulations Pebble, your improviso party parade is indeed "live".. you are precious

Thank you all, Baa, KarmaHappyToes, Sandy1512, Lantana, Poppysue, Melody, haighr, all of oyu for these wonderful years - I believe even better ones wil lcome.

Dimitri

Here, Here Dimitri and Thank You also!

OK any room for the ubiquitous token Baa ... sorry, I mean Brit? I didn't bring my Mince Pies, too warm, don't you know ;) I did bring some Chicken Tikka though Evert and Lamb Tikka for me, one of my favourite dishes (most popular take away food in the UK)

Edit to change a grammatical error ... where do I enrol for English lessons? *G*

Toadsuck, TX(Zone 7a)

...........I know Dimitri is gonna make a something so deliciously greek................gyros, I hope!!! Hey Shoe, quit trying to snealk off with the last hard lemonade....oh, well a hard ice tea will do!!

"eyes"

Thanks Eyes!!! *G*

Pebble Chicken Tikka Masala is a mild curry, meat pieces in a tomato/cream sauce with Indian spices.

http://www.sonzyskitchen.com/chickentikka.htm

Some of my former Indian collegues thought it was quite funny how we have changed the cusine to suit British taste buds.

Toadsuck, TX(Zone 7a)

What's fenugeek, and where do you get it?????

"eyes"

It's an annual herb, Trigonella foenum-graecum. I t5hink it's listed in the PDB

Bodrum, Turkey(Zone 10a)

I prefer Thai curries ~ they are different than Indian curries aren't they?
When we were coming home from Turkey, the big move....we stopped in englad for a couple of weeks, and it was one of the first meals my mother wanted, Indian food, then chinese food. Because at that time, there were no foreign food restaurants in Turkey, and my parent's missed the different foods. In those days, people didnt travel at the drop of my hat. for example in 20 years, my father never came back to the US, and my other only twice. My husband has been here for 15 years, and he goes back to Turkey every other year, sometimes every year, once he went back twice in one year.....

Thank's baa, Chicken Tikka was good too, I ate it in India too. :) Dimitri, are you going to make some Tzatziki sauce, or will I just use Indian Raita for my bread? =)

Rethymno, Crete, Greece(Zone 10b)

The heat of July calls for a Greek salad:
Ripe tomatoes, cool cucumbers, chopped dry onions, diced feta cheese, some olives, salt, pepper, oregano, olive oil vinegar wine and a splash of water to make adequate juices for all to dip their bread in.. and ice cooled white retsina wine..To your health, all of you, miraculous people!

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

oh Dimitri, this hits the spot. apparently no one has found Shoe yet and the kids are getting restless. Think I'll go put my GD down for the night and will be back soon.

Efland, NC(Zone 7a)

My favorite salad of all time! Thanks Dimitri! (Love that wine too!)
tiG, I ain't lost! I thought I was found earlier! Whaaaa....story of my life!

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

Toadsuck, TX(Zone 7a)

Bodrum, Turkey(Zone 10a)

Dimitri, love the salad....we sometimes grate a tomatoe into the salad to get more juice for dipping bread in....
how about some OUZO, and some mezes....

Elizabethton (Stoney, TN(Zone 6b)

Sorry I'm late for the party. I just got back from Wisconsin ... had a hard time leaving those flamingoes.

Hey, who wants to play SKIPBO with Gardenwife and me? Who's not afraid to play against the world champions? Dave? Adam? Care to go 2 out of 3?

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

anyone else notice how food oriented we are?? :) GL, would you ask Mike if he'll tell a story in a bit?

Bodrum, Turkey(Zone 10a)

I was just going to ask GrannyLois if she brought some good ole Wisconsin cheese....but I guess I wont ask. But how was the cheese in Wisconsin????

What is SKIPBO? can we play scrabble ?? I have played scrabble on line, and it's fun. sometimes my kids will get online and we will play at a table for 4, so we would have one unknown, then as we're playing, we shout out words that we can use, so we basically help each other.....
I've found it to be quite fun and entertaining....

so Back to the shing dig.....I'm feeling a little snackerish......
Tig, we are food oriented...could be the aftermath of the cookbook. by now most of us have our cookbooks, and we're dying to try some recipes, this would be the perfect occasion......

Helsinki, Finland(Zone 4b)

I often play Skipbo with my grandma, she likes it :) Can I join?

Elizabethton (Stoney, TN(Zone 6b)

tiG, do you want Mike to tell about 'the lady who swallowed a fly' or 'the foolish man' or a different one?

Pebble, Skipbo is a card game - special cards like Uno and Rook. If you have an even number of people, you have partners. It's pretty fun. And was the cheese good? How can I answer this? In a few days, you'll be able to tell me .......

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

GL, I didn't get to hear any of his stories, would love to hear them all if he's up to it!!!
pebble, I love scrabble, haven't played in several years, I'll set up the tiles!

Bodrum, Turkey(Zone 10a)

I have played UNO, and yes, it is very enjoyable - we play with the kids, and they get quite a kick out of it....
well...was the cheese good? as good as our Tillamook cheese? did you have some tillamook cheese while you were here? what a cryptic remark...does this mean what I think it means?????

hey GL- off the subject but I need to ask you, in addition to the corsican mint, what was I going to send you???? I have been wracking my mind....and for the life of me cant rememebr, if you can think of it, please let me know. I just discovered how to use the trade tracker...so I am trying to be organized!

Bodrum, Turkey(Zone 10a)

Tig, we could have fun playing on line......i think it was games.com or someting like that.
In the meantime though, you set up the tiles, and I'll go grab a couple of more people and get us some drinks. I'm going to have some more of your sweet tea, what do you want?

Jonesboro, GA(Zone 7b)

TIG - you have mail!

Elizabethton (Stoney, TN(Zone 6b)

Oh dear! I don't know what else you were going to send me, but I do know that the corsican mint was the main thing I wanted from your great yard. And I've deleted all my old email ... sorry!

The cryptic remark ... just a clue here ... be sure to check your mailbox right after the mail person comes and don't let your mail sit in the heat tomorrow (or Thursday).

:-)

Bodrum, Turkey(Zone 10a)

lol - I will make Sure Taylan or the kids are right there waiting for my dear mail lady.....usually, if i have a package, she just brings it into the garage......
thank you GL for your thoughtfullness...you are toooo kind.
I cant wait......

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

pebble, I'll just take some of that tea while you're up if you don't mind! how many can fit around this scrabble board?? oh wow, look at the tiles I drew!!! look at that crowd in the corner, they're just jealous:)

Bodrum, Turkey(Zone 10a)

tig, is that a Z i see there???? egads girl.....and you're first...best time to get the z I think...
