what's that??? I see all the members starting to stand....is that Tig there whistling??? and there's the whole brug clan waving their arms, and I spy the group from the UK elbowing their way to the front, and there's Evert standing on his chair trying to be heard...he's shouting something in Finnish and a couple of people are giving him "the" amused look, there's GrannyLois looking as proud as can be, and there in the back is northern crowd, Joan, Snowhermit, gardenwife and Howie (they even brought their dogs), then there's Tennesse group headed by Cala holding a brug....waltzing to the front, oh no....not a stampede, here comes Shoe to the rescue, he's getting ready to seranade Dave and Trish, wait....what is that? a group is pushing Go Vols to the front, she deserves some recognition, reluctantly she takes her place next to Dave And Trish. Here comes the Georgia Clan, can't miss Jim, where's Bobbie? oh there she is dwarfed by Jim. Not to be outdone by the Tennesse Clan, here come those Texans, with Eyes at the front of the group, followed by Coco and wingnut and toadlilly and there is Aimee, surrounded by her family, and on the sidelines I see Louisa, and WVDaisy, and Jody what's that they're doing?? they're stomping their feet.....The West coasters are there waving a banner...there's Kell, MaVieRose, Socal, maryE and Joan from MtAngel. The florida contingency is there in full force, can't miss them....they are wearing their hawaiian shirts and shorts....and yep, they all have brugs, speaking of brugs, I see Erik, Kyle and Brugie huddled in a hybridizing discussion, not to be outdone by the florida gang, here come the Floridian wanna bes, the CANADIANS.....I see Liz and brugcrazy, practically knocking down everyone in their quest to reach the floridians....they too are carrying brugs, the difference is that they have the coveted red ones that the floridians cant grow.....Oh, here comes Monika in a dignified saunter (hope she will have a book signing after all this is over), with Tonny in tow (yep...he is carrying a datura....) I hear some more whistling....It's the Cajun group headed by Lisa, the Mississipi group is in full force with MsJen at the helm, here comes an odd assortment, egads...they're carrying pots and pans, hitting them with whisks, and woode spoons...making quite the ruckus, there's Dimitri all the way from Crete, and gerddi from Switzerland, this must be the cooking group. I bet they're catering the open buffet...No herring dip for me, thank you very much....I'd rather try some of that Kasoundi, which is popular down under...speaking of which here is our very own Wonder from down under.
I see a whole group of people waving blue books...what's with that? ohhhh....they're the new cook books, put together by Trish and coco, all those recipes that the whole clan submitted (cant wait to get mine)

The arena is packed with all DG'ers, and as with all parties, there are so many people that I cannot see them all, it's just a blur of happy shining faces.
There at the head stands Dave and Trish, Go vols, and some others I'm not familiar with, the people behind the scenes.

one more thunderous round of applause and the crowd goes wild.....oh no... what's that Dave's doing??? no... no... he can't be, can he? out of nowhere he has produced some long stalks of Love lies bleeding, he is draping it over his head, and what's with those squash? the ones that look like funny spaceship? yep folks, he is putting them up to his eyes....Poor Trish, she is just rolling her eyes.......

Our fearless leader's image forever etched in our brains as the "red Rasta Man" with the spaceship eyes....

the crowd is starting to disperse, little groups are forming, you can tell just by the grouping wich forums they are from, isnt that something? the whole family coming together like that....Wow - what an event, what a gala...what a spectacular "site" we must be...

oh pebble, it's so good to finally get to hug your neck!!! this virtual party is a great idea. DH had such a great time at the last get-together, he's even here with me. Let this party last much longer than the last, so I get time with everyone!!!!

Thanks, it sure is nice to sit and chat with you here, I knew I'd finally meet you one day, just didnt realize we'd have the whole clan here with us, it's going to get crowded here, so don't mind me if I dissapear every so often. Look at what they're doing in the dining room, they have set up tables representing different regional cooking...
I have a clear view of the cajun table and the southern table (cant wait to try some of those dishes that I've heard about....) and there is TEX-Mex Table....yummmmm
I hear that a lot of the recipes from "the" cookbook will be served. I am just so hungry...cant wait to try them all, I cant see all the tables, I hope there is a Turkish table, or will they make one table for the greek and turkish food? peacefully co-joined....time to break down the barriers with food......

lookie here, we have so much food here, everyone brought a couple of dishes from their region....

Larkie brought her famous Fried dill pickels and fried green tomatoes...thanks Larkie, I have been dying to try your fried dill pickel recipe - havent had the time to make it yet, so I am soooo glad you thought to bring some.
flow brought her Bavarian red cabbage dish, tim rought his spring rolls...Evert brought his favorite Spaghetti salad, gardendragon brought her fresh salmon cakes - the famous british columbia version...
Just me lisa brought her deep fried Turkey, all the way from Louisiana, in peanut oil no less.....
Howie took Lisa's recipe and amended it and came up with a chicken gumbo to die for...
Gynlin brought her juicy hamburgers...the trick is in the milk she adds. Morph came in with a fancy beef stroganoff. and MaVie surprised us with a varitable feast of asian dishes....Poppiesue Brought her famous Clam chowder, and shoe was gonna make his biscuits on an open "far"
Dave and Dimitri have set up a table of greek and turkish dishes, Dimitri made the doner and dave made the tzazhiki sauce. dave's dreaming of his days in Germany when he ate this kind of food all the time.....I see Louisa is right there next to them waiting to display her stuffen grave leaves...
oh my...will you just take a look at that dessert table? I cant believe it, but what on earth did Weez bring?? oh weez, that's at the wrong table, she brought a pan of her famous cooked dirt......take that back outside girl!!!Come have some of coco's delicious homemade ice cream, and see the little baggies there? that clever Coco....she made up some of her ice cream in a baggie for the children to make...Karenmarie brought her excess blueberries...yum yum, tink brought her pink lemonade pie....pucker up....
egads...what is that flying by? it looks like a chicken...oh brother!! dont tell me Coco made her chicken with the popcorn up it's a~~ ......and I see haigr made her chicken with a beer can up it's a~~.....YEP....looks like quite the spread....

geeezzz Azalea....the one thing you were in charge of....oh well, melted chocolat is the effect we want for a smores isnt it? (haven't actually ever had one) so we're halfway there..... I'll try your hard lemonade ~ is it a candy?

tiG, I thought the southern cooking motto was "if you can't fry it, it ain't worth eatin"...so OF COURSE you should give Evert a cooking/frying lesson! I just saw Emily, and one of the older girls (Cala's or Mystic's) was wagging her around on a hip. Can I get you something cold to drink?

I'd like some of that southern sweet tea....or should I go for a mint julep????

Pebble, we eat ours with ketchup - Heinz only, thank you very much. I have no idea if that's against the rules (but then again, WHAT rules? It's a fried piece of cornbread you're eating with your fingers, for goodness sake.) Here's a tall glass of something-or-other. Not sure what, but at least it's cold :)

hey pebble, I put 'Sweet Tea, the right way' in the cookbook!! LOL! seriously! now you have no excuses not to try and make it at least once. I used to eat hush puppies with ketchup, but don't anymore, with the ketchup on the fries and tartar sauce on the fish, I like something plain!! and if you're not going to fry them, you might as well not eat them. come on over, I'll give you a lesson right now, here, first you....
