Cookbooks are in!

Jacksonville, TX(Zone 8b)

The cookbooks are much less that we had originally planned. The reason: I took the option of inputting all of the recipes myself, instead of having them do it. This saved us a significant amount. On the downside, I personally had to retype the majority of 450 recipes. Any typos or errors that I didn't catch at the time cannot be fixed without additional charges. When I read through the proof, I did find a couple of small errors (commas or periods left out), but nothing major or significant to the recipe itself, and I figured all of us would rather save the money instead of paying more. The other downside was that it took much longer than I thought it would. The upside (and more importantly, in my frugal mind), is that it saved us money, therefore, saving you money. I'm pleased with the outcome, and I'm sure that all of you will be too.

A side note- we ordered 200 books, and that will be all of them. There will not be a reorder.

Enjoy!

OH MY GOD TRISH!!!!!! You retyped all of those recipes? I would have been happy to help.
Knowing this, I feel very bad....and inadequate..

my heartfelt thanks to you my dear for all your hard work!!

Jacksonville, TX(Zone 8b)

AWWWWW! I didn't say that to make anyone feel bad! Please don't! I knew how badly everyone wanted the book, and I was happy to do my part to make it happen. (Lets just not talk about a 2nd version!) Anyway, there was nothing anyone could do to help me. The company sent me their software, and it could only be installed on one machine. I just ask that ya'll don't run me over the coals too badly when you run across the occasional typo :) (Pretty please!)

I don't think anyone's gonna do that...........there's typos in the Wall Street Journal!!!!

Trish
Thank You for all the hard work in putting this together.
Perhaps this will stop alot of the snide remarks about how rich you and Dave are getting from the 15,000 plus members at DG.
THANKS

Paul

Thank you, Dave, Trish & CoCo! Well, maybe DG doesn't pull in The Big Bucks, but it has sure made ME a richer person - so wonderful to be among friends here!

Versailles, CT(Zone 7a)

I got an email to say that my recipe book is now leaving your shores for a foreign land! What super quick service. Will now be looking out for the postman.

Good food ahead!

Ladysmith, BC(Zone 8a)

I would love one of the cookbooks but at over $30.00 Canadian is too much for me. I cannot see postage to Canada being $9.00 US (almost the cost of the cook book) so sadly will not be ordering one. Boo Hoo!

Helsinki, Finland(Zone 4b)

How about the economy mail Dave? =)

dobie, ON(Zone 3a)

I am with you gardendragon. I would love one of the books but with shipping it is to much. Longer mailing time would be better than not haveing a book if it brought the price down.

Georgetown, TX(Zone 8a)

I think I originally said I would buy two, maybe I said three, but I ordered two before I saw that there are only 200. I toyed with the idea of ordering more, but now I would feel greedy, so maybe if there are a few left over, Shoe and I can race for them. I am feeling torn between taking all I might want since there will not be a reprint and being fair to others. The things I will go hungry for!

Efland, NC(Zone 7a)

Good Idea Aimee...I've noticed as the word spreads on other forums people are finding out about them and ordering them.

New Iberia, LA(Zone 9a)

Dave... could you hold for me one after 2 weeks if can? If not I will understand no problem. Let me know thanks Dave!

Was wondering if we could have a count on how many have been sold so far to give everyone an idea on how many are left.
I'm sure with the weekend coming up,more will be sold and the books will be sold out before we know it. They are nice.

SLEDDER: What am I going to do with you? I'm feeling embarrassed here on this end. OH, will I ever get even with you. :} I do thank you for the kind words, but it was an effort by everyone who submitted recipes,so everyone should get the credit for this project. I do thank everyone for their recipe submissions to make this book possible.

I absolutely love my cookbook. I'm cooking every night for friends and family who come to help us with our house, and I've already made several of the recipes in the book and all have been a great hit! I am so happy with this cookbook. By the time we get the new house done, I think I will have made all the recipes in it. That's my goal anyway. I am cooking almost exclusively out of that book now, because everything is so good!

Thank you to everyone involved in making it happen!

New Iberia, LA(Zone 9a)

Thank you so much who ever send me the DG Cookbook so exciting and want to tell you "Thank you so Bunch" {{{HUGS}}} I loves it!!! =D
