We got to finally meet and tour her garden - how beautiful everything was! And all my little baby plants have made it home safe and sound, and will get planted out tomorrow before the day gets too hot.
Elena, I so enjoyed our visit and your generous sharing of all your "goodies" - DD and I chatted all the way to sister-in-law's house about how much fun we had at "Miss Elena's" house.
Next time, hopefully my garden will be ready for public viewing, and we can meet at my house! It's so ironic that it took the internet for two gardeners who live 30 miles apart to find each other, but I'm so glad we did!
Elena and I had fun today....

There is just no way to tell you how much I enjoyed having Go Vols and her darling little girl visit with me. I would love to add that little cutie to my list of grandbabies. She is an adorable little blond-haired child with the most beautiful blue eyes you have ever seen. Her smile is just so very sweet and she is so well-behaved you wouldn't believe it. Vols is a truly charming lady with a wonderful personality who carries herself with the grace of a princess. Watching her with her little cutie-pie daughter, you can tell that she is a wonderful mother. We strolled around my garden looking at various plants, trying to figure the names of some, digging up and preparing some for the journey to their new home, and discussing all the many things that gardeners love to talk about. What a delight! I just wish you could have all been with us to share the lovely afternoon. I feel so lucky to be a part of Dave's Garden and to have the opportuity to meet "salt of the earth" people with so many of the same interests. Won't we all have fun at Dave's Party?
Thank you Go Vols for "making my day" yesterday. I think that we have the makings of a wonderful new friendship and I consider myself lucky to have met you and had the chance to get to know you. Last, but certainly not least, thanks so very much for the plants. They will become a part of my friendship garden and for years I will be telling people about my new friends in Murfreesboro that I met through Dave's Garden.
Now THATS, what DG is all about, making friends with a common goal.
Awwwww, shucks Elena, now I'm blushing. And you were the one who displayed such wonderful southern hospitality. I loved meeting you and your family and browsing through that beautiful garden of yours. We had a wonderful time, and I've bragged to my family about my new gardening friend and they are all fascinated by the story of how we met!
I hope we can spend more time in each other's gardens as the season progresses. Yep, Alan you're right - DG is such a neat place, drawing gardeners from near and far!!!!
