local catalogs

south central, WI(Zone 5a)

In Madison WI area- have two growers with catalogs, sadly only one does shipping. She is the newest one. I went to her open house last year-beautiful-she is hybridizing her own, but not in the catalog yet. Earthspirit Farm bdn7458@mailbag.com (650 daylily varieties to view/225 for sale and 65 varieties of hosta for sale.
The second- I have done a lot of business with and they have exploded with plants since I first met them. They have a list of 430 hostas and 383 daylily. Their address is The Flower Factory 4062 Hwy A Stoughton WI 53589. They do mail out catalogs, but not plants. I have no financial/business connection with either, except that I have been buying from the latter for years. I do know what it is like to want a particlar plant and not to be able to get it. If someone is a major collector and finds a plant at FF, I would be willing to arrange transport of the potted plants for plant cost and postage--Dave will bring plants in for me or I go out there and always find something that I cannot do without. Anyway, I would offer to be the conduit for a LIMITED amount of potted plants . If things get too crazy , I will repost on this thread. The catalog says that some are quite limited in quantity ,so reserve early. I would also be willing to check my catalog, if they are out of catalogs or you know what you have been fruitlessly seeking. REMEMBER; the plants would be potted, so heavier. Most of the plants run between $5 plus %5 1/2% tax to $12, some of the rarer ones are $20+. This is just an offer from one gardener to another, my best recommendation would be to visit the area; largest farmers market ( non-commercial) in the states, a great farm grown garden to shop from ( she has no list, you just to the field and point, she digs) and lots of coffee houses and bookstores. If the weather was just a bit more reasonable..
