I love them both. I plant both nectar food and larva food for the butterflies.

Cala, would you clarify that? I plant things I have seen the butterflies nectaring, but never thought of needing a separate larva food. If I see butterflies and caterpillars both on my passiflora Incense, does that mean it serves both generations, or do I need to plant something else. The population of gulf fritillary butterflies was significantly diminished last year. Maybe because I was unable to water and the passifloras were skimpier? Or was something else missing?

We enjoy both hummingbirds and butterflies in our flower gardens. I need more info on plants for the larva.
