What is the best way to get rid of sand spurs, and things of that nature? They seem to slowly multiply...less than half of our yard is covered now! Help!
sand spurs and their relatives

I'm not sure if what you have is what I have. It's a short umbrella like, light green weed that has a spur that hardens as the plant matures. If so, get out your gloves. The only way I know to remove them is by hand and shovel. I spent many hours last spring hand weeding these out of my yard. Regular herbercides haven't worked for me.
good luck

Jenniflower... I grew up with sand spurs... What a thorny problem... However, I never encountered them as an adult with a garden, so I have no advice, just commiseration. Your posting only lists your registration date, not locale, so I have no clue what zone/area is yours. Good luck with removal.
