I found the mother load of compost piles on my wife's grandparents place behind us. They're not no longer with us, but the compost they left behind is. They always burned wood and I got 4 1/2 loads of this so far from where the old wood chips and bark had rotted on the ground. This is awesome stuff :D
Black gold!
Ooo, what a find. I need to start burning now so I can leave behind such a legacy.
That's yummy stuff! We've been going up into Knox county and bringing home truckloads of free compost they have up there. It's sort of a well-rotted hardwood mulch, very fine and nice. But that looks much nicer yet - what a find!
What aq blessing! A few years ago I had a tree trimming company dump the shredded trees beside out LP gas tank. It was a large pile to begin with but rotten down a lot in time. That area raises the nicest canna plants. Phlox and Dutchman's Breeches grow well there too.
