Villa Rica, GA(Zone 7a)

I have a bed in the full sun, and I have all these funny looking mushroom things that are flat and white looking and they grow in masses up next to my plants. I haven't seen any like out in the bed away from my plants at all. They seem to love my larkspur and my money plant a awful lot! We have been having some rain but, I can't figure out why it is Just this one bed!! any ideas?? also, how can you get rid of them?? I pull them up by the clump fulls and they still pop right back up a few days later!! Help!! I hate these ugly looking things!!!

it's all this rain we've been getting. it probably came in on your mulch or something. just pull them!

Thanks Tammy, but I didn't see any that looked like the ones I have...but I will keep looking! I just hate seeing them under my plants, b/c I figure that there must be some creepy critters under them that come out at night and eat my plants.
tiG, I been pulling and pulling and they still come back!

I used some of my compost added to potting soil when I re-potted some house plants, and in a few days I had some sort of mushrooms growing in with the plants. I always add any mushrooms I find outside to my compost pile, so I know where these little guys came from and they were kind of cute.

You're lucky then, b/c the ones I have are by far cute in any way LOL they look like something that you would find in the ocean, well maybe not the ocean but they are flat looking and look they should be growing on the side of a tree or something....weird looking little things!

It might just be lichen, which looks worse than it is.

I got some flat white fungus when I used new hardwood mulch and it rained a lot. I kept pulling it off and moved the mulch around to keep it dry- it helped.

The only thing is my bed don't have any mulch in it, I mean other than what is mixed into potting soil/top soil. I am still puzzled! I guess I will have to keep pulling them out every other day or so! :(

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

We had lots of rain last year and a weird fungus grew up the stems of my plants. It didn't hurt them and I left it alone. Not all fungi are bad, some are just "agrivating".
