This was from a few years ago when they scraped up my tulip poplar in the fall....grrrr!
I noticed that if you don't protect the dead wood with something like pruning sealer, bugs and so on will start making a home of the dead wood making it even worse. My trees with damage seem to do much better with some of this on them.
