info on wine cup vine

Lake Toxaway, NC(Zone 7a)

I bought a wine cup vine a couple of years ago. I did not realize it was a vine, but did expect a little cascading, perhaps 2 feet. Well, it vines about 6 feet. It has brilliant deep pink cup-shaped blooms. My problem is that it doesn't bloom much. Does it need full sun? What are the fertilizer requirements? What ph does it require?
I had it in the rock garden which gets about 4 hours of sun but I just took it up and put it in a pot. Any and all information will be gratefully appreciated. I REALLY love this plant.

Do you mean callirhoe? I think they like poor soil conditions. Maybe it's vining so much because the soil is rich - more green and less flowers like a nastutium.

Popppysue, yes I think it's callirhoe, because I looked it up in the Plants Database and the picture matched. I'll try not fertilizing it and see what it does. Thanks for the tip. I tried that with nasturtiums in the rock garden but still only got 3 or 4 blooms. I'll try it in an unimproved part of the rock garden this time.

The first year mine didnt do much. This year it is going hog wild. It loves my wildflower garden. My garden gets full sun. I think more sun would be good for your wine cups. They are a lovely color. Outstanding.
