Goin' to 'tucky!!!!

We're going to Kentucky for a weekend to visit the kid down there and her man! I'm so excited! One day, she and I are going to go to Paducah to the Quilt museum and I'm going to get to see her gardens and help her plan a little more and TAKE HER SOME PLANTS! Hehehe, I'm worse than the grandkids when they went down over Easter!

Hi Kathleen, We are going this weekend to visit Melody from DG and to take in the big quilt show that is taking place. I will let you know how it goes if you don't let me forget to report back to you. I have been looking forward to it for weeks. Sorry we can't be there at the same time. I am glad you are finally getting to make that trip cause I know you have been planning it for a long time.

Hey Kathleen, you going through Cincinnati by any chance?? Mapquest sends you down 71 which is really close to where I live. HINT HINT If you take that slight detour to get Eyes, you could leave her here and I can get her to Peggy's then you can pick her up on the way back. LOL
Lucky Elena! Didn't realize you were right there in TN. We had friends in Brentwood when I was growing up, but I lost track of them.

And after Kathleen goes through Ohio, picks up Badseed and the kids, but minus their noisy wheels, another hop, skip and a jump - turn left a bit onto I-95 (or is it turn right) and head on down to Ol Virgini!....lol Would that you could Kathleen - that would be really something!!!

Hmm, Let's see, I'm supposed to pick eyes up in Texas, which is about 1000 miles out of the way, whip back up to Cinci and Chele and company, sort out Mystic and Melody and probably grab Brook on the way by, head off to Virginia with the whole crowd in my '94 Sable sedan, get Margaret and tool on over to Herndon to visit Lissa, drop everybody off and NOT FORGET ELENA'S ROSES FROM LAST YEAR, all the while convincing my husband that it really is a fun trip and he's the sweetest man alive in 5 days! Sure, why not??

Okay, I can solve part of your problem. When you swing by here, drop of Eyes and Jo and leave your car. Then we'll take my conversion van to finish your trip. I'll take Eyes and Jo and you to see Mystic then we can swing over and get Lou. Then we can all drop in on your daughter and scare her to death. LOL Then we can take two cars and go see Elena. See! No problem. By the way, one of those 9, 12 or 15 passenger thingies, is going to be my next car! LOL Do you have any idea how limited your choices are when you have five kids?? And we still want more. I better start looking at buses. I went from a minivan up to a conversion van and we have a lot more leg room, but still only seven butt spaces. Gonna have to get a church van. giggle

LOL, well, superman has a new plan. Eyes and Jo run up from Texas and Arizona, pick up the kids, sideswipe for Margaret, grab Mystic and melody, barrel up through Cinci and take on Michele and kids and come up here to play in the SNOW!!!

Did she just say the S word??? I think she just said the S word!!! Now I heare we are waiting on the F word! YUCK! I think I am going to leave early and go see Kathleen's kids all by myself! Or maybe I will go to Jo's or Eyes'. I don't want any more cold! Yesterday it was monsoon and now it is winter again. waaaaahhhhhh. Can Superman give me a cheap flight somewhere warm??

SNOW!!! How terrible! I don't think I will be partaking of that trip as I am just so happy to see cold weather over for a while. Maybe we all should postpone that trip till the weather is better up there although it is already so hot in Texas you Texans might enjoy a little snow.

Sounds like we better all get to packing up our stuff. If we find a home we really like we might be wanting to "stay a spell." Better be packing up a whole lot of clothes as we are really gonna be covering a lot of territory unless we decide to be like the "Guest Who Came to Dinner" and just "light for a spell" at somebodys place. Don't forget to pack the bathing suits and don't forget the snow gear for Kathleen's place.

WOW! This little thread got long in a hurry! Sounds like a wild ride for sure. I can just see the State Patrol pulling us over with plants and trees and such hanging out of the windows and quilts flapping in the wind behind!One more passenger....My Sheltie, Carly goes everywhere I do,so we'll have kids and a dog to mix up too!

Kathleen,when you come to KY,let me know. My Mom is a tour guide at the Museum and gets free passes.Besides,she'll give a great personal tour. They usually schedule groups for a guide and if individuals show up,you get whoever happens to be there to show you around.Mama's tours are best 'cause she talks to the artists and they send her on trips for the Museum.You wouldn't be coming this weekend would you????We'd try to hook up.

She will probably rue the day she told us to come visit. Everyone packed and about ready to go? We will just make her a nice visit! Do we provide our own food or will someone be cooking for us? I really need lots of good food in order to do my best gardening!!!!It is a total necessity that we get a dessert with every meal also!!!! Kathleen, I know you will be on vacation, but do you think you might be able to slave over a hot stove in order to feed this hungry bunch? LOL!!

And I suppose it's only dessert if you can eat it on a plate with a fork! Hehehe, she doesn't know I posted that yet - boy will she be surprised!

Elena has a confused look on her face but as DH would tell you, that is nothing unusual. I don't quite understand that last message Kathleen. I think dessert is anything with sugar in it that can be sopped up, carried away in one hand, drank, slurped, sipped or wolfed down like a starving hound dog would do it. Forks and plates are optional depending on how hoity toity one is inclined to be and how high you can hold your little finger up in the air while drinking from a cup. Maybe we need Horseshoe here to give his learned opinion on this one. "Paging Shoe, Yoo hoo, Shoe!"

Elena some deserts really do need a fork...lol!! But I don't hold my pinkie up - not quite that genteel!! Kathleen Lissa sounds lovely and I like her already - just like her mum in fact!!! Tell her to make sure I have an a domesticated animal to sleep by my side - can't sleep without one!!! No, not talking about my DH!!! hahaha!!

I was right in there with you guys till I heard Poison Ivy and Sumac.....man I'm itching all over just thing about it!! Can I be delegated to weed pullin' or sumpthin'?

Eyes, she'll take all the help she can get, you want to cook? Lissa says, no three hot meals a day, but she's good with dessert.

the bit about the fork comes from my dear husband's family - it isn't dessert unless you eat it with a fork, in other words, PIE! His grandfather ate pie three times a day. Stan gets it at least 3 times a year.

And I can't help it if my pinkies stick out, that's just the way they're made!!!
