my seedlings are dying
It sounds like damping off... Too much water. Let them dry out. I would try to repot your survivors into a drier soil and then keep an eye on the watering.
I sympathize with you, my tomatoes did the same thing. weren't getting enough light, and kept too damp .too young and tender,(I thought) to put outside. was afraid I would forget to bring them in. so starting over. still not too late I hope.
yes the most common cause is a combination of too much water, not enough air flow and not enough light. The seedlings are put under stress by stretching too high trying a reach the light source and then infection sets in.

When you do water them, pour a cup of chamomile tea into a gallon of water and water them with this. For some reason this works. I read it here on DG and tried it. This is the very first time in my life that I did not lose one plant to damping off. (THAT IS A LOT OF PLANTS LOST! LOL)
It really works, but I don't know why.
qzarksue, thanks for the tip on the tea i wil definitely try it.

Also very important: water from the bottom!!! John
Thanks everyone,
i'll give it a try and a couple prayers too.

It really helps to use a sterilized seed starter mix. You're less likely to have problems.
Hi Deb
This sounds like damping off for sure....I have read that if you put a little bit of fine sand on top of the soil when the seedling begins to grow...it should help prevent this..
Try everything :*)
