Light Stand Plans

Westbrook, ME(Zone 5a)

I have plans to a light stand that is made from plywood & pine boards. The whole unit holds 3 shop light fixtures that hang on chains from closet poles. I can cram about 10 trays of seedlings on it. When it's not in use the lights can be removed and the unit folds up flat for storage. It's pretty easy construction - If DH can make it I think anybody can. I photo copied them for someone a few weeks ago and I still have 4 copies left. Anyone want them? I will send for SASE. I spose I can copy more if enough people want them.

I would love some. I have been drooling over the ones in the plant catalogs for 300+. I keep thinking that there has to be a way to build one so much cheaper. My mom made me an area in my kitchen that is built in but it is a little to short for shop lights so I have to pay for the expensive smaller lights. She gave it to me for Christmas. I thought that was so sweet of her. But 10 flats and that is just not going to be enough this year so would love the plans.

I could really use the light stand plan. I'm starting my winter sowing this week and then will need to get setup inside. Thanks! Rise :)

I would really like a copy of the plans. I will sase. If you have a page scanner you could scan it in and just post it here. I really like the idea of being able to fold it up.

That stand sounds pretty neat, but I made one from that vinyl coated shelving that you re-do closets with.I have 4 shelves,4 foot long and 18"deep. I have just ordered a digital camera and it should be delivered mon. or tues. I'll take some pictures of mine and send them to whoever wants them.My total cost was about 120.00 counting the shoplights.
The lights are adjustable by the chains that come with them.
My shelves are getting ready for their 4th season here in a week or two and they look good as new.I have them permantly fixed to my utility room wall and use them for other things during the non-seedling times of the year.

We picked up a huge Park Seed plant light table (7'x3', 3 shelves) at an auction for $50 (retail, when you could still buy 'em $1500) and another little park stand for $5 plus we have the 4 tiered homemade job we started with. Can get about 30 flats going at one time with all. All have shop lights on chains.
