Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

I have to confess that I rarely buy plants or seeds. It would have to be a really good sale or something I was really dying to have if the price was right. Funny how I can blow postage like crazy trading and justify it. LOL I didn't buy anything and we had to have postage to pay the bills. LOL I just buy a lot of postage.

Badseed: I think you get a better deal from trades because other gardeners are more generous than the seed companies. However, since I sell many of my plants, I have to buy seeds to be clear on what the customers are getting.

Not everything comes back true from seed, and there are a lot of people that expect plants to be consistant. Like you, I really look forward to the results of the seeds I collect or trade with others. For my own use, they are the best! And the fringe benefits are that you make such good friends along the way!

Troy, VA(Zone 7a)

Well that's all well and good for you young uns!! Some of us don't have time for that seed to grow into a tree :-)

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

I agree with you one hundred percent! As I was leaving my reply, the phone rang, the kids were being wild and I had someone on MSN. LOL Typical day here. My train of thought is quite short and pulls out of the station in a hurry. :) The biggest reason I trade, is the friends. Of course my gardens are not suffering from it either. :)
