I agree with Paulgrow....what in the world does anyone say on these threads that you don't want anyone to see? I guess I don't care to discuss private issues with anyone other than in an e-mail, if necessary. Just my opinion, but it does seem redundant.

I feel that there are so many nuts out there who are cruising the net trying to invade people's lives and privacy that it is not the least bit paranoid to want to avoid that kind of people. It is astounding to me when I read about all the ways these nuts have of going about their little schemes. I am not talking about the people who are truly interested in gardening and making friends at DG. JUST the Crazies who wouldn't even bother to be interested in such wholesome things as belonging to DG.

Very well said Elena,my sentiments exactly'''

Problem, as I see it, is that the people, aka nuts, who would be a danger or pest can always break into whatever we post. So I would not throw caution to the winds, regardless of what forum I was on. I won't even put really sensitive information in an e-mail. This is just not a safe form of communication if you need total privacy. Neither is your phone, folks. The only thing left, and that is in question, is a walk beside someone in whom you wish to confide, away from the marvels of technology. Do a little reading about those powerful visual tools and audio devices now in use, and you will begin to understand that your privacy was lost decades ago. Your whispered conversation can be picked up from miles away, the inside of your home can be watched quite easily from great distances. I am concerned by the knowledge that there are people seriously at work on technology that will allow them to access and transmit your thoughts. Before you write me off, look into it. I didn't make it up. And I have known about these things since the late 70s. Imagine how far they have advanced since then. So, you want privacy? Prepare to isolate yourself, and even then it might be impossible.

I was thinking the same thing Aimee. Hackers can get into pretty much anything they want to on the internet and beyond. I'm not terribly concerned about being watched, but if I don't want something to possibly become public knowledge, I don't publish it to the internet or in email.
