As many of you know I am new to gardening. I just started late August 2001. I was able to get a few plants to plant in the fall and had a very small amount of plants that I got with the house. I thought it would be fun to list what plants you have along with what plants you are looking for. Then if someone has to much of one plant they can offer to those that are looking for it.
The ones that came with the house are:
Mock Orange Bushes (Philadelphus inodorus L., Hydrangeaceae ) Man do I hate this BUSH!
Some Bleeding hearts (which I love)
Fern Leaf bleeding hearts
Some un-named Bearded irises
an un named Azalea bush (really pretty pink flowers on it)
a Yucca plant (that bloomed Once in the last 2 years and I missed it as I was on vacation)
snow on the mountain
Monkey Grass
some type of ground cover with purple flowers
and some sedum
Oh yeah and 1 Hosta that never grows or blooms
And I bought myself 3 canna Bulbs today :).
What I would like to plant is:
Peonies (one of my favorite flowers)
Hardy Geranium pratense 'plenum violaceum'
Gardenia Jasmine
Double Appleblossom (Alcea Rosea)
Double Peony (Paeonia lactiflora )
Dwarf Burning Bush (Euonymus alata 'Compacta')
Dwarf Pink Almond (Prunus glandulosa)
French White Lilac (Syringa vulgaris)
Peaches n Dreams Hollyhocks (Alcea Rosea)
Peony (Paeonia officinalis )
White Bleeding Heart (Dicentra spectabilis 'Alba')
Pink Lady Slippers (Cyperipedium acaule)
Thats all I can think of now.

I am looking for anything i don't already have. should have some strawberries coming soon and some grapes vines. but i could always use more.
I'm with Dori...I want one of everything I don't have! LOL
One thing I do for me, each year I buy a plant (or 2 or 3) that I have really really been wanting. Last year I bought 2 hydrangeas and 1 clethra (purchased as plants), this spring I bought dahlia and cannas. Then I fill in with seed. When I very first started gardening, I wanted long lasting color and drought tolerant. I purchased seeds that would do that and in just 3 short years have beautiful perineals (I never spell that right). I'm zone 7 but sometimes it seems that I wish I were in zone 8 for the length of the growing season but then again sometimes I wish I were in zone 6 for all the flowers that do well in that zone but not here. Anyway, I'm rambling but slowly but surely, it will get there. As I've read so many times on DG and it's one of my favorite gardening quotes, "Live like there is no tomorrow and garden like you have a thousand years"

I grow lots of perennials each year from seed to sell, so I always have plants...my problem is bed space! I'd like to be able to show people what the plants look like around the yard, but I'm running out of yard. Most of my want list are things that I need to buy as plants since they aren't available as seeds:
Variegated Jacob's Ladder (leaves are striped)
Variegated Arabis alba (white borders on the leaves)
Of course, there are lots of things I'd like to grow, but can't due to our climate.
As for what I have, as Baa said, it's too much to list, but all my plants do best in cool moist soil.
I have lots of seeds, but not many plants yet. If I had to pick one thing that I really wanted, it would have to be Coreopsis rosea.
sometimes I think the plants that I'm looking for have a lot to do with what garden show was showing this week. I'm such a pushover.
Some of the things I'm looking for :
borage, stevia, lemon verbena. The other herbs, like basil and rosemary I can find pretty easy around here.
flowers, do you ever have enough? Besides wanting them all, and because the daffodils are blooming here, I want a couple of pistachio daffodils. I have never seen any, but hear they are solid green. I have one that has some green in the bloom, and the bloom must be tetraploid.
I would like to get rose bushes established this year. I live in an old farm house and think they belong here.
I could go on and on, but now I want clivia. Saw pictures someone posted here and fell in love with them.
Since you asked....I have been looking for a plant called a Canary bird plant for years. My mother gave me one forty years ago when we lived in Bakersfield. I haven't seen one since. It's very fast growing and has yellow blooms that look just like Canarys. I don't remember if it was an annual or what. It was not a vine. I sure would love to find another one. Any idea what it's called and where to find one? :)
Hey, forgetmenot: I wish you were closer. You could come over and I would give you several Canary Bird Vine to take home. They are a member of the same family as nasturtium (Canary Bird Vine/Tropaeolum peregrinum). They are grown here as an annual, but I can't say if they will live as a perennial in your climate. You can get the seed from most seed catalogs. I don't know if they are suited to your climate, but they do quite well here. I share your appreciation for them.
Oops, that's not it either. It is a plant or bush, not a vine. I appreciate the offer tho. I don't think they would do well here. We have hot dry winds. I am able to grow Nasturtiums here, but just barely, and only because I love them so much. Why do we always want to grow what doesn't do well in our area?
