Hibiscus from seed - possible?

Mysore, India(Zone 10a)

My orange colored hibiscus (rosa-s) went to seed and I have collected a 6-7 seeds from it. Are there any advantages from growing it from seed or are cuttings better?

I have grown them from seed many times and even had them bloom the same year. Right now I have several varieties growing in the green house. They are very easy to grow from seed. This is the only way I have ever grown them.

Mine took 2 years to get 4 feet tall grown from seed.

In that case, I'll give it a try right away - there are 7 seeds! Thanks.

One other advantage I forgot to mention is the amount of money you will save. Here in Vermont a two year old field grown hibiscus sells for $25. There is however no guarentee that the color will be the same as the parent plant. That can be exciting too.

Now I came to know from a friend that hibiscus growing from seed are original plants.
I missed saving its seeds. That was a long time ago. I don't have that plant either :(
Digging up some old threads to see if there is anything coming up now.
