I have some red and yellow common cannas that I got several years back from a customer. They have never bloomed. After looking at Kyles beauties, I want to give these one more shot before I get them outa here. Are they too deep? too shallow? How deep should they be? (just thinking that's the problem)
my cannas won't bloom
May be to deep....should be 3 1/2 to four inches deep and 12 to 18 inches apart.
"eyes"
Maybe they need food.
Are they getting enough sun?
Tig,
In GA you don't need to feed them, just lots of water..LOL..Mine multiply so fast I have to dig a couple of times a season..That's the only downside to growing them around here..They will take over and you can never give so many away.. lol
Larkie
tig, i had the same problem. threw mine out in the woods. here's the secret, told to me by a lady down the street...cow manure and lots of water....basically you grow them just like a brug.....Larkie, 5 minutes ago i was telling a neighbor that...the more you divide them the faster they multiple...
forgot to say, those that didn't bloom for three years i put in my new bed and they bloomed right away, 40 X 8 bed with cannas and bananas...last year blooms staring in april.
