Grandma's first truck

Troy, VA(Zone 7a)

Yes, the little ol grannie has her first truck!! Yee-haw!! Not a new one, but a 92 Ford Ranger XLT (I think)!! I am so excited!! Can't wait to pick up the first load of manure and then mulch, bricks, stones, wood for fencing, etc!! Just think of all that money I can save by hauling the stuff ourselves!! Now where are my shades and my baseball cap....lol!!

That's great Margaret but remember here in the USA, we drive on the "right side of the roads",lol' Well, most of the time, lol':D

Panama, NY(Zone 5a)

Oooooo, nothin' better than a lady with a truck. Now I'm jealous. My next car is gonna be a truck - can't let Stan have all the fun and I can't drive his monster!

lagrange, GA(Zone 7a)

Well good for Granny. Now she has something to come to the swap in Tn. in June in. With hubby riding shotgun and the back end loaded with pots of flowers here comes granny around the mountain. She'll be coming around the mountain when she comes, She'll be coming round the mountain when she comes, she'll be coming round the mountain, she'll be coming round the mountain, she'll be coming round the mountain when she comes (on the wrong side of the road).

You are one lucky Englishwomen!! I want a truck too. I've told DH, that my next vehicle has to be some sort of truck as I love to haul big things, myself not included. LOL
Everytime I have to haul something, I have to borrow SIL's small pick up, but I have to drive 16 miles to get it first.

Maybe I can get a 2nd vehicle, truck, after DH gets another job. HeHe

Congratulations, Louisa!! (You nut!) "Just think of all that money I can save by hauling the stuff ourselves!!" Oh, you sound like me! I save the money and Kenny helps me haul the stuff! LOL! You're gonna' LOVE it more and more every day! You'll NEVER go back to cars full time. My little pervertible's cute and fun to drive (when it's running!), but there's nothing like the feeling of being a little bitty woman in a great big truck! My first one was a '69 3/4-ton Ford ~ cool truck! Now we have two Fords ~ an '85 Explorer 3/4-ton diesel and a '92 extended cab XLT one-ton dually diesel. (Sis, ya' want me to come pull you out of them bushes?)

Forget the shades and ball cap, girl ~ you need a high-lift jack and a tow chain!

Troy, VA(Zone 7a)

LMHO - and they say I'm the nut!! At almost 5 in the morning couldn't believe I let out such a huge belly laugh and even the cats look surprised!! Our mum, usually the quiet type in the morning - until she's had her cup of tea!!
Jim that was so funny!! I would love to get to meet you all at the roundup but don't think I can! But who knows huh?? Yes, I guess you could say this was my Valentine present and my other day (hee-hee) all rolled into one. Now let's have a look at this map - don't know where the heck I am. Sure is pretty hot and dusty round these here parts!! Here we are then!! Blow me down - I'm in a place called Hicks Town!! I wonder if that means the folk around here are called Hickeys!!! Strange bunch these Yanks!! Off we go then - slowly into first, ease into second, a quick third and vrrrmmmm smoothly into the sweet fourth gear and we're off!! Ooooh I like that tune.....what's it called now? Oh I got it........."If you're gonna play in Texas you gotta have a fiddle in the band....tara rum tum....Wow this is the life!! tar rum tum tum ..........

Panama, NY(Zone 5a)

Louisa, now that you have your own truck, you HAVE to hang out over at the farm forum, and COWS have the right of way!!!LOL

Troy, VA(Zone 7a)

lol Kathleen - I really will visit the farm forum more often and I am happy to give cows right of way - it is as it should be!! That goes for all those other lovely critters too!!

Crossville, TN

Congrats, Louisa...."double-clutching, trucking-mama"!! When you're "swapping lies" with the guys down to the feed store, if you hear "Hey,ya'll look at this" HAUL BUTT! It means that some good ole boy redneck is a fixin to hurt hisself! LOL Jo

Georgetown, TX(Zone 8a)

I'm not sure why this is funny, it's just life, but it sure plays well at DG.

Noblesville, IN(Zone 5a)

You can't be a true Hillbilly without a blue tick hound. LOL

Toadsuck, TX(Zone 7a)

...sooooo this mean ya plann' on playin' in Texas, gal??

"eyes"

Troy, VA(Zone 7a)

Why not pray me darlin! Shoot - that's Irish!! It's as good a place as any to start on my journey!! But ya know something? I can't play anything, not much of a singer, but boy can I whistle!!! And what the heck is a blue tick? Jo - fixin to hurt hisself????? No comprehendo!!

Crossville, TN

Louisa...when he says...Look at this...he's a fixin to show off...either by doing something dumb with his pick up...like "wheelies", or just something dumb in gereral...and ends up in the ER! Sorry, us Hillbillies hear that a LOT! LOL Jo

Troy, VA(Zone 7a)

lol Jo - got it!!! At last :-)

Lyles, TN

Louisa~ Hi, I never knew getting a new truck could be THAT much fun. I think I'll get a new chainsaw and see what I can stir up! LOL.

Georgetown, TX(Zone 8a)

Truck not equal chainsaw! Truck=haul. Chainsaw=maul. But, hey, I have a new chainsaw, and I would trade it for a truck, any takers?

Lyles, TN

Aimee~ I've got a truck, but if I traded it for any saw, I would be cheating you! LOL
