Spring is On The Way!

MD &, VA(Zone 7b)

Spring is definately on the way...BIG SIGH!!!

The other day the yard was full of Robins! :) :) :)
(DH says they are just getting here from the north, LOL)

This morning I went out to check on and clean up a bit in the pond, I have lilies that never died off and are growing new leaves.

I got so excited I walked around every garden, I have green sprouts of daylilies, malva's, scabiosa's, lobeilia's, and a few others I'm forgetting.

I know "winter" isn't quite over yet...but wow, only about another month before winter won't be able to hold back spring! I'd better get busy, and will stay busy now well into July when it's too hot to be out.

Who else has green peeking through?

Same here Jody,my Kentucky Blue grass is still green and some very "healthy robins" are everywhere, last week too' Love it' Dry still,no moisture but so nice with all the sunshine' Been covering my bulbs daily, they're determined to arrive, lol'

mums, helebores, salvia, huechera, false strawberry, rudbekia, ajuga, jupiter's beard, dianthus, verbena, sedum, autumn clematis, lirope, ferns, and roses getting new growth.....forsythias are bloooming.....man nature is sure confusing the plants...I get excited; but, I know old man winter is waiting to slap me back a few feet!!

That's fuunny, we were commenting on the number of robins at the bird feeder this weekend. (I don't think they ever left.) Eyes, I'm with you - I refuse to get too excited about spring because we're likely to have at least one or more cold spells still before we start to truly welcome spring.

I haven't seen any robins,
but I did have two bluebirds
in the backyard
yesterday...maybe they never left?
I've got giant alliums coming up, iris,
sedums, and daylilies poking through.
