Didn't plant my new tulip bulbs ... when is it too late? We've already had weather as cold as 14 degrees. The bulbs are sitting outside on the porch in their box. Are they salvagable - can I still plant them when we next have a warm spell?
Tulip bulbs
I would definately put them in pots and keep them cool. I put them in dirt in pots, water them so they are moist, put them in a plastic bag and then put them in the fridge. I leave them there for many weeks. I take them out when I see roots in the bottom of the pot. You can force them inside and plant them out in the spring. They may not bloom for a couple of years after planting them outside though. Hope this helps. If you have any questions feel free to email me.
