They are pretty.
Took a walk and spotted a few mgs sprouting in two pots outside even after a few real cold days so I took them inside my gh. I know they are purpureas.
My hige vines inside are growing nicely.

Thanks for the new thread Jackie.
Helena, glad to see thing's are growing nicely for you.

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Your seedlings look great Helena.

Gautier, MS

Thanks Jackie and Linda. The vines are starting to grow. I'll have to get them into bigger cups soon. It's been warm here but they say it will be cold tomorrow.

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Up and down temps here Helena,. Will be so glad to see Spring. the cold hurting me more this year

Gautier, MS

Me too. Just don't like the cold.

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

I cannot have the clip procedure to fix my tricuspid valve. Mine is much too severe. No one checked it for 2025 when my heart Dr went on leave. so now my damage is severe and will require the valve replacement. So dangerous there would be a 35% risk I would not survive the surgery, So for now, we do nothing,. , just leave it alone.
My heart surgeon says my heart Sounds strong and that I could live years like this, hope he's right,.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sorry to hear that Jackie.
I will keep you in my prayers.

Not morning glory related, but wanted to share that we have our first baby chicks. Momma hen was showing them off this morning. They hatched 3 days ago. You may have to zoom in to see them. So far I have counted 3. She made her nest in the rose bushes.

Thanks Linda. I've been without a computer for over 5 days. It would not even turn on Friday morning. Took a while to set this one up, did not want a Microsoft acct
Sweet little baby chicks.. .

Gautier, MS

Im sorry about you not been able to get the procedure done Jackie.
I manage to catch a cold and am feeling miserable with this weather real cold in the morning and warm in the afternoon.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Hope you are feeling better soon Helena.
I have had bronchitis going on 3 weeks now. This darn cough doesn't want to go away.
We have 8 baby chicks. I will get a photo soon.
Ladies, it looks like we are all going to have nasty weather this weekend.
Stay warm, and safe.

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Hope you feel better soon Helena.
Linda the hardest thing to get rid of is the cough.
We are in the path of the coldest weather we have seen in decades, Not to mention the ice and snow,. I'm so worried about feeding the stray cats that I feed 2 times a day. Wish my son could put some chains on my car then I could go about feeding and watering the strays. Dont think he knows how.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Good morning ladies.
Praying you are all staying warm.
A few of our highways are getting cleared, but neighborhood streets are horrible.
0 degrees with wind chill of -19.

Hope everyone is doing OK. We were spared the ice and snow but still way too cold here. My big oak tree fell, so now have to do clean up.

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

YoU're colder than we are Linda.
Helena, great that the big oak tree spared your house. I've got 6 or more needing to
come down before they hit my house.
My kind neighbor took me to feed the stray cats yesterday and cleared tons of ice and snow off my driveway , a wonderful neighbor.
I'm going to see if I can get out of the driveway in a few minutes. It could still be slippery and no chains.
My car is just a 2 wheel drive.

I bet that tree made loud noises crashing down. I too am glad it missed your home.

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Very cold here today, won't get out of the 20's. If we can just make it to Monday, 50 degrees forecast and even a 60 a few days later.

Gautier, MS

Im glad you had help from your neighbor Jackie.
Linda, I jumped out of bed when I heard branches scraping the house but thank God only 2 shingles on the edge were damaged. My son's have been cutting the tree branches off buts a big job. Amazing that my bird bath didn't get broken or damaged. God is good.
It's been freezing here today and windy. One more day and I hope we warm up.

Amazing that your birdbath escaped undamaged Helena.
Waiting on it to warm up a little more here. It's 33 or so and I want to be sure the ice is melting,. so worried about falling and breaking something as I feed the stray animals.
A nice lady helped me yesterday afternoon, a lot younger than me and not worried about falling. 56 tomorrow if the weatherman is correct, so excited about it.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

That's a huge tree. Glad there was no major damage.
Jackie, glad you had helped feeding the cats.
It was 63 here today.32 tonight.
Not bad.

Gautier, MS

I'm glad you had help feeding the strays too Jackie.
My son's came over this afternoon after work and used the chain saw to cut some more of the trunk. It just takes time to do it. Still a bit more maybe a third of it to be cut. It was a huge tree. If the weather is nice and a bit warm and they're not tired from work they'll come finish the job. My two adopted sons help too. The help is really appreciated.

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

It was about the same temps here today Linda, very nice and lots of melting'going on.
Helena, sounds like you have a lot of help with cutting the downed tree. My daughter and I thankful for all the help we've had this past week.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Yesterday we hit 80, today's high will be 50.
Think I will stay inside and get some quilting done.

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Linda we had very similar temps yesterday and will be cooler here today as well.
Thank goodness Spring is getting closer, sick of the cold.

Gautier, MS

We have spring days here off and on.
My son's finally got the tree cut up and pulled to the st. Amazing how heavy those are, and the the main rotten part was at the very bottom of the trunk and roots, it was hit by lights years ago and been dying on the right side. I kept one to put my little water tray with fountain

Good use of the trunk to hold your water fountain for the birds. When they cut my trees, I will do the same thing.

Gautier, MS

Thanks Jackie. I have four mg vines that have been growing slowly still in the tiny cups but I see a bud on one of them.
I had bad luck with the soil I bought that was supposed to be good miracle organic soil but must had spider mites so my vines got infected with them.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Nice that you left the stump.
Sorry to hear you have spider mites.

Gautier, MS

Thanks Linda. I just check the leaves every day or two.
Here a pic of the four vines that are doing good. Blushing bride has buds.

Oh my. You will have blooms soon

Happy Valentine's day ladies.

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Your growing vines look good Helena.
I've got to get my son or grandson to take down that ugly trellis on my carport. As soon as I start my mg vines, the leaves get a virus It's unpainted wood and I guess the virus is deep in that wood. I tried spraying but it didn't fix the problem. I

Gautier, MS

Thanks Linda and Jackie.
Really feels like spring here these last couple of days. I try to do a little of clean up every day.
Hope you get help from your son and grandson with the trellis.

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Thanks Helena, Turned off cooler here after days near 75 and 80, I wont be able to grow morning glory's until the trellis is changed out. I might have to hire it out maybe a handyman. people around here are begging for work

Gautier, MS

We had a couple of cold days here. Looked cloudy today but the sun is trying to break through.
Two blooms this morning on Blushing Bride.

That is so pretty Helena, Looks like Blushing Bride has some Sazanami dna.

Gautier, MS

Thanks Jackie. It probably does, I'll have to find my original seeds.

Gautier, MS

A third bloom from blushing bride bed.
Now im not sure if it's blushing bride but it reminds me of pink porcelain that after a few years started having blzd bloo.s too.
